Default Montreal: bad time of year to start?

I'm from Montreal, and I am seriously considering stripping for the first time. I get the impression from this forum that winter is really slow here. Anybody currently dancing who can confirm this? Is this a bad time of year to start? I would think winters are easier if you have some regulars built up.
Also: I've been trying to find current reviews of clubs in Montreal online but there's little on this site, and others I've found are old info. If anybody could tell me a good site to look on, with reviews by dancers and customers, etc.? anybody know which clubs get mostly English speaking customers?

Any info or tips on the scene in general are also appreciated... I welcome messages from any local dancers! Thanks!

Montreal, all of Canada, everywhere should be fine right now. I don't buy the whole 'slow season' stuff anyways.

Sorry I don't have more info...I had a customer tonight tell me he didn't want a ($25) dance because "they're only $10 in Montreal, and there I can touch!".

So...that's all I know about it. I think you just need to go to the clubs as a customer, and pick one you feel comfy at. Once you're there for awhile, you'll hear about the other clubs, and will be able to make a more informed decision.

    Good luck!

    Scarlett is correct.

For information and hiring unless you know someone already in the club, you are best to just walk in and check it out!

Are you looking for non contact clubs? There are only 3 left in all of Quebec.

As far as decent clubs go, if you find one...chances are you will make less money than at a full service one! All depends on how far you are willing to go for your $10!!

Quebec does slow a bit in the winter...but not until Jan...and only for a few weeks! The recovering from Christmas thing.....No different than anywhere else!

I have numbers for agencies that provide tabledancers I can pass them on to you...Interclub & Fantasie.

Try Wandas or Chez Paree for non contact (far as I remember), but you'd make more at a place like Solid Gold with contact. Some noncontact have dances for $8...just saying. Yes the contact ones are $10, but you can charge more to tourists if you're saavy...this is mostly hearsay though. Who knows until you look around...Also, those downtown non contact clubs have gorgeous women, and might be intimidating for a beginner.

I work in Gatineau, Quebec, and the contact here is similar to Ontario, but the dances (at least at my club) are topless only. Anyway, I've heard the money is pretty good from tourists in Montreal. I wouldn't worry about the season...there are some really scary clubs off-island, so beware.

Montreal clubs slow down a little in the fall, pick up again in December, and then are completely dead in January. But it's always possible to make money here. Pretty much all the clubs on the Ste. Catherine Street strip cater to English-speaking customers (e.g., Gentleman's Choice, Le Downtown, Wanda's, Chez Paree, Super Sexe, Chateau du Sexe, Sex Appeal), so language shouldn't be a problem. I've given a breakdown of the city's clubs in another thread:

If you do decide to dance, you should probably give some thought as to whether you can handle contact. In casual conversation, I've had dancers tell me about customers choking them, yanking their nipples like taffee, and, in one case, a customer grabbing a dancer's butt so hard that he drew blood. These kind of customers are the exception rather than the rule, but they can take a psychological and physical toll. So you probably have to ask yourself if you can put up with that kind of thing. If not, you should limit your choices to Wanda's, Chez Paree or Super Sexe.

I used to frequent montreal and if you are looking fo renglish speaking, and little contact try club super sex. It draws a lot of american tourists and with the exchange rate they are willing to spend a lot of money!!

    Thanks everybody!

Still not sure how I feel about contact. I have been to all 3 non-contact places as an observer. I doubt I could get hired at Paree or SuperSexe, from the girls I saw there they all had big fake boobs and such and.. I'm more the girl next door kinda type. Wanda's had a bigger variety of girls on the night I went there and I talked to someone there who said she thought I could fit there. Anybody ever work there? I liked the atmosphere... Supersexe was full of really young people and seemed like a sportsbar. I've also seen Kamasutra but it was a sunday so slower and the gals didn't seem all that intimidating. I didn't see the back area though. it's right near where a lot of my friends work and go out, though, so I'd worry about people I know popping in. Maybe this isn't the best place... though I'm willing to give it a try. My friend went to a few places in Ontario a few weeks each and did well. Maybe I could travel there a while.
