    Default Massaging chairs

OK, that's it, I hate my back!

My boyfriend and I both have chronic back problems, mostly from stress and heavy lifting. Neither of us has enough energy to give the other a back rub most nights, so I want to find some sort of back-massage device that I can get us for Christmas. Theoretically, I could drop major cash on one of those $2000 massage chairs but (1) I'd prefer to spend that on getting my car in perfect working order and (2) that would be a bitch to move half-way across the country a year from now.

Anybody found any super-whoo massagers or massage chairs? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Our cheapo methods of back pain management are: tequila, Soma, aspirin/painkillers, hot baths w/Epsom salts & occasional chiropractor visits. If you're moving in 12 months, it would be cheaper to use several different methods from the list above than to invest in a chair you might have to re-sell.
I DID get to try someone else's massaging chair & it was GREAT. I won't lie. I think timing is the issue with this purchase.....
I have heard there are spinal decompression exercises that could help both of you, there is a minimal investment in some tools & work space.

    Good luck!

We wouldn't necessarily have to sell it to move. We're moving for grad school, so we're going to be keeping a lot of books, one of the desks, both desk chairs, the bed, the dressers. . . A massaging chair or one of those things that drapes over the chair would be just another thing to cram into the UHaul.

Also, we already use analgesic back cream, NSAIDS, and hot soaks, and the boy still sometimes has trouble sleeping from the knots in his back. Maybe I'll see if I can pay for a few chiropractic sessions for him.

you can buy one at Walmart for about $80 and they have an adapter that comes with it to plug into the cigerette lighter so you can use it in your car. I have one and I love it.
