Sad Help please! my shoe broke and I need some suggestions-

Up until last week I had 2 pairs of functioning shoes. I got a little too drunk at work and I have no idea what happened to my shoes (don't know if I left them there or not).

So then I wore the other pair and it split right in half. (It's the type of heels with a chrome platform)

I would see if the shoe maker can fix it- but he always makes me come back the next day to pick them up (and that's for a something simple like adding a sticky sole). I already can't go in to work tonight I don't want to miss out friday too.

I know it's ghetto but I don't have any choice...can I use super glue or something strong as a temporary fix? I only need to wear the shoes fri-sat-sun because I'm moving and that will give me time to order a new pair.

I'll post a pic of the shoe.

Ack super glue! I would say that isnt strong enough for a woman... maybe a man? If I were you Id give in and just buy a cheap pair if you can. Otherwise it will take at least a day for a shoemaker to glue back together. Usually when stripper shoes die.. .they are down for the count.

Why don't you justgo on snaz75.com and buy a pair of clear 7 inch heels, you can get them for like 34.99 not including s/h and tax, but you can use the STRIPPERWEB discount. Honestly I don't think the guys really care about what shoes you are wearing so you don't have to go all fancy. They care about your body and your face.

You can probably get some kind of overnight delivery.

go get cheap shoes at payless or one of those hoochie mama places in the mall that sell to stripper wannabes.

depending on how tall you are, you might be able to pull this off: sneakers with matching leg warmers. I knew a girl in vegas who was already 6'0" so she didn't want to wear stripper shoes and got away with this. I envied her the ability to work in sneakers.

    Thanks for the help everyone-

I can't order online they won't be here fast enough

There are 2 stripper stores in this city, 1 you can only place an order and the other doesn't have shoes in my size. (I'm an 11- they only go up to 10 )

Fancy- I'm only allowed to wear heels at the club- and they must be dance shoes.

I would hate to pay money and buy a shoe too small- then it won't even look right.

The city I work in is 70 miles away- they have more dance stores but that's a wasted trip to drive up there and they don't have my size.

Thanks Katherine- I'll see if I can find that gorilla glue.

Shoe glue usually takes 24 hours to dry...that's why your cobbler makes you come back the next day. Can you work wearing just regular high heels? Or some other type of sexy but not stripper shoe?

I've worked in flip flops, with no noted loss of income, so it can be done! You can do your stage sets barefoot.

I have other high heels but I won't be allowed to wear them on stage- against the clubs rules. And there are enough tattletales that I will get found out even if I tried to do that.

I guess I'll try the gorilla glue- I hope it isn't complicated and can last all night.

Gorilla glue needs curing time. At LEAST 24 hours...maybe a little more.

Not a last minute fix in the least.

Also, it tends to expand...so you have to make sure you don't put too much on where it'll ooze out the cracks.

Epoxy. You'll have the strongest shoe in the world. Just make sure you get all the excess bits off, 'cause after it dries it's there forever. Try a hardware store.

Do you have a Wild Pair near you? They usually have shoes that could probably pass for stripper shoes and you may not get busted. I would be leary of any glue, you could really get hurt if it breaks.

BTW epoxy may hold, but it STINKS so bad it will make your eyes water, and the smell lasts a long time.

No- there isn't a Wild Pair. In the mall there's only those Shoe Dept/Shoe Carnival/Payless type places. I know it's risky with the glue, but I'll give it a shot and step lightly. I'll let you all know how it went tonight.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I second that. I used it as an emergency fix when the heel of my boot came unanchored. I only needed it to last a night, maybe two, until I could replace them but as it happened I never had to. Freaking stuff is amazing.
