    X-Pole

Yes i know there are a million threads on poles, but i just couldn't find the info i was looking for...i will be renting a house in a couple of weeks, and i would like to finnally get a pole. I have read alot of the pole threads but there doesn't seem to be much on the x-pole. It's looks pretty sturdy, if anyone has one and would like to give me some feed-back that would be awesome. like the pro's n cons. also i was checking out the PS super pole....i dunno i just need something sturdy, removable, and quality. I'm very new to dancing and i need something that will hold up to all the moves i want to try.

I was looking into the X-Pole and the PS Super Pole myself. When I went through everything, I was very dissapointed because:
    1. The X-pole has to ship from Europe ($$$$) plus standard ceiling heights are different over there (even though I'm sure it adjusts)
    2. There are a lot of horror stories on here about going through Platinum Stages, plus these poles are slightly more expensive (minus S&H)

    Both poles are pretty similar

I bought a PS Super Pole, and I love it!!!!!!! I ordered it through ebay and got a great deal (they are $20 more now, but still great), and it arrived 2 business days after I placed my order!!! They are shipped from CA, so I wouldn't worry about ship time to you

There was a small dent in the 48" peice, but I notified the seller, and Platinum Stages sent me a new peice in a couple days (super-quick!).

I Love, love, love the pole, it is very sturdy (inverts, spins, etc) and can also be both spinning and stationary. I would highly recommend this pole to you!!!

Sorry I couldn't give you more info on the X-Pole, but I am crazy about my Super Pole!!!! If you would like to know any more info (about the ebay seller, prices, etc) PM me and I'll do all the helping I can!!
With all the stupid things guys will say, stay cool.

The Xpole is really sturdy. I have mine at 11'5" (this requires the additional long extension) and it hasn't budged - it does *flex* a little in the middle, but that's to be expected at that height!
Out of the box, the standard xpole goes from 7' to 9' which should be fine for most houses. The additional extensions will take it up to 12' - measure your ceiling and use the calculator on the x-pole website to tell you which extensions you need.
I like that I can do all my tricks etc on static, and then just switch it over to spinny mode with a turn of an allen key for some dizzy fun!
When you take it apart, the longest piece is 1M long which means it's easy to store and transport. The only problem is that sometimes the pieces get stuck together - this is due to the pole getting hot from friction from your hands. Usually getting the pole cold, and giving it a shock gets it apart easily.

If you need any more info - ask me!

I bought an x-pole. I've been waiting for an extension piece cause I mismeasured my ceiling. I got it today, so I'll post a full review over the weekend...

Stacey and customer service (which is basically, Stacey ) over at x-pole is GREAT!!!

It'll be put together tomorrow and I'll write more then...

I have an X-Pole, it's gorgeous. Sturdy on my 8" ceiling and no screw at the bottom, which a lot of removeable poles have. I haven't taken it down yet so can't say anything about how easy that is, or putting it up either. The first time was a pain in the ass but I assume it would get better with practice. I have the carry case, which is pretty good. Mine doesn't lock properly at the top, so it has about 20 degrees of spin in static mode. I probably could have returned it for that but it doesn't bother me, my boyfriend had trouble trying to do his manly pole tricks with it, though.

^^ LOL my boy's exactly the same!

I just got the chrome one yesterday and after we set it up (much to my horror), he actually climbed up it and did his "kung fu" poses. He then jumped off the pole and said, "Your turn", but I just stood there shell shocked.

have u tried tightenin it at the bottom with the allen key? after playin with mine on static for a while the screws do loosen and u have to re tighten them with the little key a bit. and also make sure your poles are screwed together tight enough by usin the rods....mine was a little bit wobbly but my day really tightened it up and now it doesnt budge at all

Definitely sounds like the spinning lock at the bottom if you have tightened it up all the way at the top, and it still just turns a little bit.
The allen key locks do work themselves loose once in a while. Make sure the Xs are lined up - one of my instructors didn't realise this when she went to tighten it up after switching to spinny mode, and I had one hell of a fright when it moved when I next went to teach!

Oh, you're right. I'd tightened it as much as I could with my hands, but I just used some pliers to get a better grip on the key and now it's fully static. Thanks.

I got my extension and had a hell of a time getting it up. I have a thread "Poo, the 'need' for a man" that I wrote and responded to myself last night.

Once I got it up good though, I played for quite a while and love it!! I took it down last night no problem. I re-set it up today and it was easy as pie!! Took only a few minutes.

I can't do much on it, but it held fast to my hard swings and climbing/sliding down...

I got the titanium one. I love the gold color.

What I love about it is that the base will adjust a few degrees if your floor isn't level. I live in an old building and though I can't tell really, my floor is angled. I also love that it's a duo pole, meaning that you can keep it in static or spinning modes.

    Good luck!!!

Also, check out the forum at verticaldance.com. Lot's of x-pole talk.

Me too! I hadn't realised my floor wasn't flat until I spilled some milk and it all poured to one side of the room! HAHAHA
