    Default Lactating

Okay, for a few weeks around July it was bothering me because I could squeeze out a drop or two. Whatever, I got over it. Over the last few months it's gotten worse. I can now SQUIRT the milk out and sometimes I awaken to find a few drops already out.

    What the hell?

A four month phantom pregnancy? Asshole body! My pregnancy tests all came out neg. (I test monthly)... wouldn't my hormones be on my tests?

I heard it's normal to do a couple drops.. but this much?! I squirt myself in the eye the other day! (surprisingly, it doesn't hurt...)

My boy is totally squicked by it.

    Edit: When did yours stop?

^^^ Lol, squirting a drop or two of breastmilk in to the eye is a safe and natural treatment for babies eye infections.

See your doc and request a breast exam. Is it coming from one breast or both? If both, no doubt probably a hormonal fluke, but if it is just one breast it could be a sign of something much more serious.

If it's more than a drop or two, get to the doctor ASAP. You could have a pituitary tumor secreting prolactin. You need bloodwork.

Do you and your guy engage in lots of breast play? Sometimes stimulating the nipples on a regular basis can induce lactation.

Sounds like a phantom pregnancy to me. I would ask your doctor about it though before I jumped to any conclusions.

I've had that problem ever since I had my daughter almost 11 years ago. I've talked to the doctor and he doesn't seem concerned about it. It's weird though.

I had this happen when I was on Depo. Don't know if it was related though, because it only lasted about 6 months, and I was on Depo for years. It did happen when I was with a BF who reeeeaaallly like breast play, which I have been told could cause this. If you are worried I would ask a Dr. though.

^^ Depo makes your body think its preggers, which is why it causes weight gain and lactating and no periods, and why any doctor who cares about your health will tell you not to stay on it long term because of all the effects it has on your body.

Are you on tranquilizers or mood stabilizers? Antidepressants?

I know for a damn FACT that Resperdol makes you milky.... it happened to me.

No, I quit my mood stabilizers. I don't need them anymore. I AM on the shot, but I've been on it for almost six years now, this started recently and grew into more. My boy is not a big breast-player. I do have a new piercing, but it started before. Yay for free healthcare!

How long ago did you stop? Mood stabilizers made me milk like 6 months after I started taking them. It could be just a delayed side effect? That's the only thing I can think of.

OH. And thyroid problems make you milk too. =/ Go get a blood test.

So does the pill. They've actually found there aren't any long term bad effects to not having a period, that's why they have that Jasmine pill now.

I used to have a problem with elevated prolactin levels and the doctor said if it gets too high you can lactate. I never did but I had to take meds to lower it.

No, I quit back in february.

Anyway, I need to get a blood test anyway for my immigration. Three birds with one stone now! (as I still need sleep tests)
