    Default Called in sick......ugh

Does anyone else have "call-in" guilt when they are sick? I swear, it's the only thing that can make me feel like I'm lying even when I'm not. haha. Fortunately, I got one of the laid back managers on the line and he didn't say much about it.

I think something or someone on Sat. night got me sick. I've been couch-ridden the last two days! So ladies, don't forget your Purell and compulsive handwashing.......it might save your ass.

I will give credit to my daily vitamin regimen for not having a full-fledged sickness. Bee pollen, chlorophyll, and Vitamin C in large doses are probably keeping me one inch from the flu.

I never have guilt about this. Mostly because clubs will lie to me so much to get me there. (All the girls made a million dollars last night...do you want to come in tonight- we'er super busy?)

The clubs also have never called me to say "We have way to many girls working tonight. Would you like the night off?" Nooooooo, I've never heard this. What I have heard is "Well, you can leave early after you pay your house fees and tip outs."

Greedy fuckers. I have no guilt whatsoever leaving them in the lurch because they have left me hanging way too many times. Scheuling 15 girls to work on a Sunday afternoon (a day when we are LUCKY to get 10 customers in the door).

I might feel guilty calling in to a club that caps it's schedule and/or has no or low fees.

Yeah if it were a different kind of place I would - I worked at a restaurant and I'd feel guilty calling in. But not dancing - clubs, even ones with good management, rarely treat girls like they are valued employees - so why bother losing sleep because you didn't come in? They just want your moolah anyway.

Ah, I won't lose sleep over it, but I still hate calling in. I like where I work and if I didn't work there I can't think of anyplace else in this town worth it's salt. It pays to maintain a good relationship with management, they do treat us pretty well comparatively speaking.

I do... but I think it's just residual from when I worked in restaurants.

I agree with Bella. I always had call-in-guilt but it was worse when I was a server as well.
Funny when you mentioned that it's the only thing that makes you feel like your lying even when your not. I always felt that way, which is why I reserved calling in for super super sick days...or super hungover ones

We don't need to call. It's kinda whoever shows up shows up. It doesn't really matter. Every now and then a manager will call me or another girl who works on a regular basis and ask them to come in, but that's only if they really need girls, it doesn't happen too often

I always feel guilty too. Not because I feel guilty for not being there, I always get paranoid that the manager that makes the schedule will think I'm just slacking and my shifts will suck. *shrug* I'm feeling crappy too, hope you feel better soon!

Luckily my current club allows drop in booking. I'm planning to go in tonight, but I'm definitely coming down with something nasty. Since it's the beginning of the month I think it's probably safest for me to just not go to work tonight and to drink tea and stuff... that way I can be nice and healthy for Wednesday night on!

From now on if I even think I'm getting sick I'm not working. I felt it a little bit on Sat., but I can't miss a Sat. I hope I'm better by tomorrow. If I still feel this crappy I'm going to be upset.
