Yeah, I particularly get it from other women. I didn't get hired at a club (for the first time EVER), because the male boss wasn't there and there were women taking the applications/pics. When I came in the 2nd time to audition(I figured I'd slipped thru the cracks), the DJ thought I was there to work and was pissed to find out I wasn't hired, esp. with all the dogs that were working that day...
power trip at its finest

In most clubs nowadays dancers are a dime a dozen. Most clubs don't need any more girls, they have more than enough already. There is no dancer training, and many girls really don't have the personality or temperament to dance.
Couple that with the majority of dancers being in their 20's, which are the "party years", and the experiment with relationships time of their life, and many of these girls bring a lot of baggage and problems with them every day they work.
Without training and constant monitoring by management, girls get catty and jealous of each other, and in the desperation of trying to make money in a competitive sales environment, club staff members often put up with a lot of fighting and problems amongst dancers which gets old fast.
In other words, dealing with a bunch of dancers issues day in and day out causes the staff to be grumpy and not very welcoming to us.
Go to some clubs in remote areas, where attracting dancers or at least decent looking ones is challenging, and you will most certainly see the club staffs attitude become more friendly and hospitable.

Why do you think I went to Rockhampton heaps when it was good money and I was treated alright (I still won't go back as I havn't heard that the money has improved) .... and now Darwin is my new fave place to work?Go to some clubs in remote areas, where attracting dancers or at least decent looking ones is challenging, and you will most certainly see the club staffs attitude become more friendly and hospitable.
Find places that actually require and want you. Yeh the club work in Darwin isn't so great (private dances) however I get paid $100 per 10-15 min show and that can add up esp. when I am guaranteed (at the very minimum) 7 shows per week. That's good money for anyone (weekly).
Unfortunately, dancers are a dime a dozen in most places so you will get not so friendly "service" whilst apply-ing for work.
