    Default Two Questions

    1. How long do you all think the "stripping industry" will last? I'm sure everyone has differing opinions on this subject. Personally, I think that though business is steadily declining, it will be around for awhile. However, I can't help but worry that business will continue to decline, so much to the point that I will have to work more and jepordize the quality of my performance from "burn out," causing me to make the same amount in, say, 5 days, as I would working 3.

    2. What time of year is the best to bank? So far, the answers that I have heard depend on the club. Sometimes I hear winter, sometimes I hear summer...Perhaps it all depends on the specific dancer?

Oops...I lied...I have one more question...

What types of shoe grips that are NOT the Pleaser kind work well? I need a thick, rubbery grip, if possible. The other ones still cause me to slip and slide.

I've wondered #1 too. It's hard to say. it's like a set of tires. Kinda have to drive it and see when they need to replaced. Too many factors involved. I hope for awhile. In the almost 5 years I've been dancing, I've been doing better as time goes on *knock on wood* so I'm optimistic.

2...depends. Where are you from? Honestly, there is very little fluctuation for me, but I've noticed fewer customers in the summer. If you need a lot of customers to make money, then you might have a different perspective.

    Have you tried Ellie shoes?

Busy times depend on the area, though dead Januarys are almost universal in the entertainment industry. Summers are slow in a lot of places, but I live in a seaside town and my old club got loads of stag parties, so we were all about spring and summer. The sort of business an individual club attracts is important as well as the area. A lot of the European clubs are dead in summer because everyone's on holiday so there's not much business travel, but I suppose that wouldn't have so much of an effect in the USA.

Stripping will be around as long as there are men who want to look at women!!

Try Boot Toupe..(pronounced toe-pea), most shoe repair shops carry it!

The stripping industry will always be around, it'll just have its highs and lows. History has shown the cycles: 40's, 50's-highs, 60's,70's-lows, 80's, 90's-highs, early 2000's-lows. Unfortunately it's been declining in the last few years and I'm not sure how it can rise back up. The problem is that the powers that be have no interest in being proactive about improving things. I don't know just how much farther it will go downhill before quality dancers have to completely bail, hopefully that won't have to happen.

That being said I've always made great money despite the decline, despite my getting older, despite all the things there are to worry about as a dancer.

Summers are slower here and it also takes a dip between Lent and Easter. I'd say best is between October and February but really there's not a huge difference in seasons.

I've wondered these questions myself, it seems like the industry has been on decline since the 90s. I'v only been dancing for a couple of years, but I've talked to other dancers that have worked for years. I think that internet porn and pay sites can be partially to blame, but it just doesn't seem like people are as interested in the clubs as they used to be. I'm not sure if it's the economy or the loss of mystery?

Though I do find the end of summer and fall to be the best seasons in the midwest to dance, February is the worst though...Then after that it goes back up. It also depends on location and the conventions that run through.

^^ The loss of mystery. The internet does have some blame as well as your stringant laws it so seems in the US. I don't think the strip club industry here in Australia is low as there are new clubs opening up all the time. They wouldn't open if there wasn't enough of a demand.

Different country. Different laws. It makes a huge difference when brothels and escorting can be done legally as it is done here. Whilst there will always be that prostitution element in all strip clubs even in Australia in the most "clean" clubs overall it isn't as rampant (from what I have read over the many years I've been part of this site) as it is over in the US. It isn't as MUCH of an issue as it is for you over there.

Anyway, there is always money to be made. It just means you have to be smarter nowdays as the patrons are also smarter.

As for best seasons here in Australia - winter is generally the worst season everywhere except Darwin. That's when it is the DRY in Darwin and the good time to be up here (as everyone else is up here holiday-ing as it is warm yet not hot and muggy like it is now during the Wet Season). At the same time it really depends on the club and region.

#1- I have no idea. I imagine a fair while though. Even if there's been something of a downturn, strip clubs are still pretty popular.

#2- Summer, in my experience, in general (this also applies to retail). People are more likely to stay home when it's cold.

Yup. Its been around since ancient Sumer. I dare say it wont go anywhere anytime soon. Not with how much more mainstream and easily accessable its become.

I believe Stripping will be here for a long, long time.

Winter time is the most popular busy time, but some places depend on summer business. There are also places (like the ones near a big city or large military base) that stay busy!

Anytime you put a new shoe grip on your shoe (I use Walmart's), it is important that you use some scratchy service to wear it down a little first. We would go outside the club and scuff them on the concrete outside.

    1. Forever. Stripping is nothing new, look at history. Sure the way it is done has changed but the concept remains the same. Who knows it may change some more. Daydreaming.....What about holograpic personal strippers in the future? Her computer interactive image can come to your home, for a fee. No clubs, mgrs, or house fees. Just a computer and a way to get the hologram. She can walk around the house with you naked, have dinner with you etc. At the same time she will be in the comfort of her own home....... Daydreaming off.

    2. New year eve, of course. The holidays are good too especially the family ones. The men want to get hell out of the house and escape. Sure the clubs aren't as crowded, but the ones who do come in spend money and lots of it.
