Exclamation I did it! Not sure what to do???

    Hi!
I DID it. I went and waited and waited to do amateur night last night. They didn't have enough girls. We were going to do it with 2 girls only, and split the $. Well, after 3 hours, mgr. realized the OTHER girl left. Wow. I waited 3 hours, but I hung out with one of the owners and his pal the whole time in the champagne type area and talked and watched, and learned alot. I DID attempt to leave a few times, but was encouraged to stay by the mgr or the couch area guy.

So, after realizing there would be NO contest, the mgr. told me he would let me go audition anyways in 30 minutes and if he liked me, I could come back tomorrow and sign a contract. I went to the bathroom and saw how my makeup needed help (including my belly scar makeup), but I didn't have it with me to fix it (I didn't think I'd be there all night). I went back out to ask the mgr if I could come back another night and I guessed he sensed it and told me to get dressed.

Well I did it. It was so stressful. The girls there do marvelous floor and pole work. Well, my pole work and floor work needs work!! I got "pitied" tipped on stage by a dancer and the guy she was talking to. SO SAD FOR CHERLO. After my set on stage, I went to the dressing room. I couldn't wait to get dressed and get out I was so shaking so badly. The mgr was in there in seconds and he said I did great. THEN the promo music came. He said, "Here's a hat, go sell a promo". So I went out there and the DJ said some nice things...in fact he said some encouraging things during my set. I need to go back there and tip him.

Promo time: I just nervously went to the owner's friend and asked him if he wanted to be my first, and he went. Those two songs in the couch area (little booth like couches separated by walls) lasted forever. At least it was crowded and I could check out the action and copy some (one chick stood on her HEAD in the couch area with her legs spread. Cool!! ) I went to "check out" with the couchroom headmaster, and he told me to keep it (wow, $40 "prize money" ) thank GOODNESS because I think with promos, house keeps $25!! I went to the dressing room again to get dressed, walked to the guy I talked to all night to say "Bye" and the couchroom headmaster asked if I talked to mgr. yet, and I said, No, and he said, well he is in the office. So I went there to thank the mgr. He asked if I was coming back tomorrow and I could do a contract. I told him I had another thing going on tomorrow, and he said for me to come in when I was ready.

I got in the car and cried. I think I was really stressed and overtired. Should I go back?
This place is great with setting your own schedule, and I met a few dancers who were nice to me. That was encouraging.
BUT, I don't know if my body can handle all the abuse. My knee hurts so bad from just one set last night.
Should I go to the gown club that I've always thought I would work at? They don't do floor work and minimal pole work. But they require a min. of 4 shifts a week, and I THINK I'd have to work mandatory slow nights for two of those shifts.

Sorry this is long. I got offered a job and I don't know what to do.

I'd say give it a try.
You will be sore the first couple of nights dancing. It will take some getting use to.
I've been dancing for 3 years and there's still nights I come home achey and sore. LOL
    Hot baths always help though.

Think about it though, if it's something you really want to do, give it a try.
    It definatly won't kill ya.

    Good luck.
    xoxo

    hello!

cool! yerah i cant do any cool tricks either!

anyways, well the first night is always hard. and like the first 1-2 weeks. my body ached and i had bruises for at least a week. but they went away(occasicanly ill get a bruise) and i think my body is used to all the dancing now.

perhaps u shud check the gown club out, to see if u like it. then whatever one u like better, u cud go to!

    goodluckl!

Congratulations! I know what you mean by if your body can take it. I am usually covered with little bruises and I have NO idea how I got them in the first place. Haha... don't worry though.

I think you should definitely give it a try. You get to set your own schedule and the dancers were nice to you-which can be a rarity at times!! Regardless of whether you work at a gown club or a regular club you still have to do stage sets which will lead to soreness and bruising in the beginning. I could barely walk after my first night of dancing-I was sore in muscles I didn't even know I had!! I still get bruises from doing floor work, maybe I'm just prone to bruising, but I wear thigh-highs a lot which cover them up. I say go for it! See how things go and how much money you make, and if you're happy, by all means stay, and if not go over to the gown club. Plus, you'll have experience dancing which will be a major plus when getting hired!
