    Default corsets for stripping?

I'd really like a corset like this in black, but don't need steel boning, metal busks, etc. I'm more interested in the decorative aspect and don't really need to be cinched in more than an inch or two. I like that it covers the hips and has a sweetheart neckline. Easy on and off is a bonus. A front zipper is a mega bonus.

I have one that looks like this from Charlotte Russe in a small, I've taken it in and it's still too big.

That and I don't want to pay $300. Damn, boyee. I'm not that hardcore.

Any suggestions or websites? NO FREDERICKS OF HOLLYWOOD, PLEASE.

Um the only thing I can tell you is don't sweat the zipper. I wear corsets to work a lot and all you have to do is go to your basic tailor and they can take out the little hooks and put a zipper in for you. When they did mine you coudln't even tell. It didn't look any different. And it's great, comes right off and easy to put back on, takes 5 seconds, it's great. Just find any corset that you want and spend the $15 and go get a zipper put in.

Not sure if she has her website together yet. But she works with you to get exactly what corset you want for much cheaper than 300. And it comes with a zipper. She is a member of the site. Heres a helpful thread.

They are really very pretty, much nicer than any I've seen and I've been wanting one for awhile now.

I can't make corsets, they're very difficult and detailed, probably a 7 or 8 on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being easy and 10 being incredibly difficult. BELIEVE ME, I've tried and failed.

How can you make stripper clothes?! LOL, corsets are easy compared to sewing lame to lace!! Since most corsets are cotton (a satin one would be a bitch!), it shouldn't be TOO hard. I have a few patterns if you need one, even for a sweetheart neckline.

When did I ever say I was sewing lame to lace? You don't know anything about the kind of clothes I design, nor am I giving anything about them away until I can get my line up and running.

I DO want a satin corset. That's why I'm having it made. I don't want a cotton one, not at all. Like I said, I've tried and failed. I'm not above asking for help or outsourcing. I'll learn eventually if I really fall in love with corsets, but now is not my time.

Ummm... I was making a joke! I'VE sewn lame to lace and it was a BITCH compared to corsets.

Ah, a satin corset is very difficult... a slippery surface is always hard to sew. I hate it.

But most stripper clothes are stretch fabric and I just find that a pain in the ass myself.. so if you can do that, damn you beat me.

Different skills levels for different fabrics, I suppose.

I'm good with cotton and corsets. (but I HATE satin corsets)

    You're good with stripper clothes.

After the BS in the tubal ligation thread, I was like "WTF... vendetta time? Argh" Everyone made me out to be a monster after I stated my views, was then attacked, and reacted the same way I was treated.

Stretch fabrics, fringe, rhinestones, lace trim, etc, I am awesome with. Cotton is cake, but ugmo. Sewing satin is like trying to put toothpaste back into the tube. I'm better with fine details than overall structure.

Nah, I don't do that. I may not agree somewhere else, but if we have something in common in another situation, I'm all for discussing it civilly!

That's fantastic. I have to sew stretch lace to 4-way stretch lycra next week and I'm not looking forward to it.

And yes, I think I'll use that comparison to sewing satin next time as well!

I sewed sating ONCE and I vowed... never again.

    Um...

Not sure if that's exactly what you're looking for, but those do have zippers in front, metal boning so there's some support but not as much as a "real" corset. Made for strippers. From Tony's.

ive never actually seen or worn a tronys corset (no one has ordered them yet) but for the retail price of a tonys, you'd be better off paying a lil extra and getting one gwen's. i just brought two, one cotton, and one chinese brocade, and they came out beautifully! tonys are mass produced, not made to order.

TOTALLY agree, I'm talking with her. She seems like a total professional and she REALLY knows what she's doing. My problem is I have a 23-24" inch waist and I'm a 34D/36C. I don't mind my boobs pooping out (obviously), but I want it to be tight enough at the waist. After talking to her, I'm starting to want one that will cinch me in 2-4 inches, and be semi-functional and not just decorative. It would be SO HOT to have a black satin corset with a sweetheart neckline, and this look like this in the back - I don't want the two panels to touch, I like the laced look with skin peeping out. The fact that she uses a zipper instead of a cumbersome front busk is wonderful!

I'm also in love with his corset:

If she and I can come up with a perfect corset for me this time, I'd definitely ask her to make one like this baby pink one with the black piping, bows, and halter strap. SO HOT! But it's from Trashy, is $250, no front closure, and hooks/eyes in the back. NOT FUNCTIONAL, TOO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT IT IS.

lol @ the trashy one. it just looks like a top with boning! and $250!? omg! youd probably still have to pay to get it taken in to fit you too, considering its not laced up.

Fucking ridiculous! I like how it looks (baby pink with black piping, halter, bows). You're right, it's not a "real" corset, and they charge SO MUCH.

Generally speaking most strippers don't want the same cinching a real corset gives. Too uncomfortable / restrictive for our job, so for most girls the mass-produced stripper 'corsets' are good. Also, most girls don't have a 23" waist and 34D chest!!

For you, viola, you're definitely better off custom-ordering from Guen. I don't have any solid black ones available atm anyway

Well, I'm "retired" at the moment - and trying really hard to resist the urge to go back to dancing, but will probably cave and go back soon. I haven't danced since July, and I'm evaluating what I want to do. I haven't been able to bring myself to commit to a "normal" job, I'm wondering how much time and effort making and selling clothes will take a week (and if it will be worth it), and I'm starting a new school in January.

I miss the fun and money of dancing a lot, but I quit because it was so disruptive and destructive of my "normal" life. Both still apply, and I'm weighing my options.

ANYWAYS... I want a corset for photography, fun, and dancing if I decide to return to it - which I probably will.
