Two Kokomo strip club dancers were arrested early Thursday after state police say they robbed a strip club they worked at in Indianapolis.
The women, Trisha A. Jenkins, 20, and Lindsey Carpenter, 21, were eating breakfast at IHOP on U.S. 31 in Kokomo when state police arrested them at about 2:20 a.m., Sgt. Tony Slocum reported Thursday afternoon.
The pair allegedly were counting the $3,277 they allegedly stole just before Indiana State Troopers Aaron Schaal and Ron Fisher walked into the restaurant and arrested them.
Troopers were looking for the women after a dispatch was broadcast to be on the lookout for a red 1998 Jeep occupied by the women.
Trooper Schaal spotted the vehicle in the parking lot of the restaurant.
The officers noticed a handbag containing what appeared to be a large sum of money at the booth where the women sat. Witnesses also stated the women had been counting money prior to the troopers' arrival.
The women were taken into custody at the request of the Indianapolis Police Department.
They were employed as dancers at Babes Show Girls on Indianapolis' east side. The cash was allegedly stolen from a locker room, Slocum reported.
They are currently incarcerated at the Howard County jail awaiting to be transferred to Marion County. The alleged theft is being investigated by the Indianapolis Police Department. Troopers were assisted by deputies from the Howard County Sheriff's Department.
