Which one has been the best for you, besides the informerical one, bare essectuals or whatever it'd called. Right now I use l"oreal bare foundation in powder form and it works well.

Physians formula mineral powder foundation is the brand I use. I like it better than Bare escentuals. I have also tried neutraginas mineral foundation, but I did not care for it at all.
I've tried several kinds (brands) of this stuff but the one I'm crazy about now is from Urban Decay. I has its own little puff on it too. It's so much easier to put on this way. Never looks cakey or shiny. And so portable!

Im switching from bare essentials to something else. BE is so thick still even for a mineral foundation. I do like the warmth from the line though. Well if you like thick coverage BE is for you.

I use this too! I love their eyeshadows and blushes, too. Everything stays on so much longer than bare escentuals (which I would have to reapply constantly throughout the night).Originally Posted by Emily
No lie, I was once in a dunk tank, and after a good half hour of dunking, my urban decay makeup (including eyeliner) was still on and didn't run.

I still use Bare Escentuals. What about the other brands do you ladies like better? Maybe my skin is changing, maybe I'm just getting bored with it, I dunno. But I'm starting to dislike the way the BE brand looks around my eyes.
Without makeup I can barely see tiny lines around my eyes. BARELY, if I look real close. Obviously they show up a little more when I smile, but that's ok. The problem is, when I put makeup on, it looks good at first, but after a few hours in the makeup, the lines look 10 times worse than they are![]()
they have great eyeshadows! I'm trying to stop buying eyeshadow because I have way too many. And I like their Big Fatty mascara. It's just like Dior Show, but cheaper.Originally Posted by badpixie

But anyway, back to the topic. Their mineral makeup does it for me. It's the same price as BE, but you get a puff and you'll definitely use less (and less is more with this stuff) and you'll have less "fly-away" powder.

I Love, love, loved BE for a few mnths after I first got it, and started having the SAME issues with it once my skin changed/adapted to it(?). I have never felt so wrinkly in my entire life, then when I see BE on my skin after a long day(Esp if I've been outside prolly because the elements).. When I went to Hawaii, that stuff made my face look like a desert floor(cracked).. so I was thru with it after that, and started back on liquid..I think a mix is good, like concealer where needed, light foundation and the sheer Mineral Veil over to hold and tone it all together. try it maybe you'll like it..
I've been using the loreal stuff too. I really like it. It looks great if you use only a little to a moderate amount, but if you use too much you get kind of shiny and masky looking. My poors look smaller since I've been using this too. What I used before was mac studio fix, and that looked great when I first started using it, but I suppose my skin has changed, and the mac ends up looking really cakey, me getting oily, and my poors looking HUGE.

I've tried everyday minerals too. I like it, but find it somewhat cakey. Their eyeshadow doesn't seem to stay either (don't have this problem with BE.) But they are good for the bronzer and blush, imo.
I've never tried Everyday Minerals, so I just ordered some samples. Woohoo, free stuff!!! Thanks Guenevere!Originally Posted by Guenevere
The Neutrogena version sucks! I should try the Urban Decay, but I am lazy and get all my stuff from my Mary Kay lady now....

I like the Everyday Minerals better than Bare Minerals. I think it covers my acne scars better, and my face isn't shiny with it- when I tried Bare Minerals it didn't control my oily areas.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.
I use Physician's Formula. My skin has never been so even looking without being irritated.

I've used Bare Minerals and Bare Essentials both I do not really care for. I don't like it for the same reasons as the rest of you. Lines around the eyes look worse than what they really are and the shinyness in the t-zone and cheeks. Plus I still have to use a concealer. The Bare Essential works a little better for coverage, but still not enough for that price and the bare minerals I won't ever buy again. Plus I don't like the colors. I have olive skin tone and have a really hard time finding a perfect match. They all seem either too pale or too pink. The only thing I like about the two is they don't clog your pores like most foundations. But if I don't wash my face everynight I still break out. When I went to a spa, the consultation lady said she used Physician's Formula and loved it. She said she can even sleep in it. I don't know about all that, but she said she liked it better than the other popular mineral make up.
For u guys having problems with creases, try using a skin primer under the makeup.
Primer works in much the same way a paint primer works-preps your skin but also gives the makeup somethign to adhere to so it doesnt slide off or form creases in the same way it does when the warmth of skin heats bare makeup.
big primer fan! seriously, you can get away with 12 hours of any foundation if u use a good skin primer.
Personally, i like silcon-textured ones becasue i find the finish u get is amazing but somepeople may find their skin is too sensitive too them.
I know MAC do a great primer as well as NARS, modelco, and napoleon perdis
i like bare minerals because you can sleep in it ..im bad about removing makeup at night but found even with this i cant use all over my face or i look like a mask.. i like rosey cheeks and moist skin to show through so i just use it on my eye lids under my shadow.. and a little on my neck and chin.. but can't use it all over
Physician's Formula is the only "foundation" that I can wear that doesn't make me break out or make my face itchy red. I love it. Its light, too...so just enough coverage. I tried Bare Minerals and Everyday Minerals...and while they were ok...they made my face itch horribly!
I'll have to try the Urban Decay one...but I also have to vouch for Urban Decay e/s. I've got several of them and I love them...although, I usually go for MAC for eyeshadow/piggies first...Urban Decay is always a close second.
