Real ones smell nice... but fake ones aren't as messy :-D

I like the real ones. I love the smell, with real trees. It can be a little messy. But It's one of the things that make christmas, feel like christmas to me.

It is what it is, not what you want it to become, that's important -- at least for now. Today, remember that things worth having are worth waiting for!

I haven't been able to have a Christmas tree for 3 years![]()
Real ones have that smell. They're more of a pain... but you can just throw them out afterwards (I don't know how much fake ones cost?). Celebrate the new house with a real one!
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
We always had a real one growing up, but since I have become an adult myself, I always have a fake one. The reason? Im lazy..and when Christams is over, I can just box up the fake one with all the decorations still on it, and when the time rolls around again, I just take it out of the box, fluff it up..and bam! insta-tree.

Fake. We've had real ones a few times, but it's hard to find a really nice one. Plus, the needles are like little daggers in your bare feet, and are f'n impossible to get out of carpet. For the smell factor, just get one of the Xmas Tree scented Glade Plug-Ins and put it near the tree. We did that one year.
waffles are just pancakes with little squares on them.
I have allergies; real ones make me sneeze![]()

I always wanted a white Christmas tree, and I finally got one last year. So it's fake for me...
Oh...and the little stuffed cow that moos "Oh Come All Ye Faithful."
I used to love real trees growing up, but I'm allergic. I got a real one my first year 'on my own', and my cats drank all the water out of it and it died before christmas even came. Fake for me now!![]()
I believe you Dottie and you have my support
I can't stand fake trees. I've never had one and never will. I have no problem with not having a tree though. I usually just go to my parents house for christmas and they have a tree so I figure I don't need one.

I never have a Christmas tree because I live by myself and I usually go to my parents' house for Christmas anyway. It's just too much hassle. I know with the real ones, the needles are a real bitch to clean up. My parents get a real tree every year because they feel the fake ones "just aren't Christmasy enough."MrChristopher had a good idea about the Glade Scented Plug-In.

We've only ever had fake Christmas trees at my place. Try finding a decent real one in Australia at the start of summer, it's bloody hard!
We have enough trees being cut down and enough dry trees being burned needlessly.
I'd hate to add to that.
Also...
Did you know that pine trees are highly flammable? I would never have one for many reasons, but safety is a huge factor! Pine needles make for great fire starters... I remember when I was riding my horse in t he pineforest, when it went up in fire - it was months before we could go back in there

I really love the smell of a real tree, but I hate the needles shedding everywhere. Especially when you step near the tree without shoes on and get needles stuck in your feet. Ugh! So, I've always had a fake tree.

I like the prelighted fake ones. You know, the ones with fiber optic lights? They actually make some rather large fake trees now. They're initially quite expensive but end up paying for themselves after a few years.
True, LSM. I've seen the HUGE ones at Costco, and cringe when I look at the price. And then I remember that they last a long time if they're taken care of. We'll get a Fiber-Optic tree next. Hell, our little cheapo tree that we got from Walmart 5 years ago is still in great shape. We're even selling it tomorrow with all the ornaments and lights. Can't take it with us, and don't want to throw it in storage.
I think we bought it for $29.99, and I'm selling it (with the trimmings) for $25.

Fake all the way. I'm allergic to real pine, and blue spruce, and douglas fir etc. Who the heck wants to have to wear a mask and gloves to decorate the tree?
Funny though because my in-laws sell Christmas trees and we would have a free one every year if we wanted it.

The smell of real ones annoy me. My parents bought one ONCE when I was a teenager. Guess who got stuck vaccuming all the damn time.
I'll never buy a real tree. My fake one is a pretty pink color- I love it.

Mine is fake and thats what I prefer. Had a real one about 3 times now in my entire life and I hate the clean up. Aside from that, my parents bought a fake tree years ago. It's been around for almost 30 years and then my husband and I bought a nice fake one 14 years ago, our second Christmas together and it's the same one we use every year. It's kind of nice to have so many wonderful Christmas memories and know it was the same tree for all of them.
Fake!!!!!! I would never kill a tree for something so simple as "They smell better". Our planet is in enough trouble as is.
