He's pro-choice, so he doesn't have a prayer of winning the Republican nomination.
I'd vote for him in a heartbeat. I hope he runs.
whats pro-choice?
^ Supports abortion rights.
Giuliani cannot win because Southerners will not vote for a Yankee Republican, even if he could otherwise win, and you can't win the Presidency without securing at least some of the South.
Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive.
William F. Buckley, Jr.
fuck, if thats the case, america is shit out of luck in advancing in the modern world!! are abortions illegal over there?

not for the upcoming election?? seriously? i honestly think that whoever the democrat is will win, no matter who he is. i think this election proved that... even republicans are angry with bush right now, many people are voting simply against the republicans instead of for the issues.

NO!!! not yet, anyway////Originally Posted by mermaidnz

every time you hear "partial birth abortion" (NOT the medical term") or "fetal rights" (trying to label the fetus as citizen so they can "protect it" and make abortions illegal) this has to do with somehow altering the Roe decision.

^^^Doesn't help when one of the principals, "Roe" or Norma McCorvey, decides to find God and convert into a pro-lifer and petition the government to overturn the decision either.
She also used a fake story about being raped, although it was considered questionable, and therefore not used in the official arguments.
Not to mention the dude closed down multitudes of adult shops when he was mayor of NYC. Just think what he could do with a whole FBI and Atty General at his disposal.
I think Giuliani stands the best chance of anyone else planning to run. I would bet considerable money on his winning at this point. That may change, but if he ran right now, he would win by a landslide.
And speaking as a Southerner, I can say that yeah, Southerners would vote for him. Even as a New York Italian. Southern culture and pride are quickly dying, and Southerners only know him by his "heroic" post-911 coverage. By and large, Southern Republicans would vote for him based on that.

It is the belief that adult women have the right to make their own choices regarding their own personal reproductive health.Originally Posted by mermaidnz
Roe v Wade gives U.S. women the legal right to say what does or does not happen to the reproductive systems of their own body.
For a look at the entire issue take a look at the following link:

Giuliani is probably too moderate for the current vibe of the Republican party. He is a social liberal in many cases. For example he supports not only a woman's right to make the choice for herself when and when not to have a baby, but he is also supportive of equal rights for gay and lesbian people and he supports gun control.
Ofcourse to me those are all reason to like the guy, go figure!
