Default Can I get away from these?

I had brought up tip walks in a different view awhile back. Ive now worked a handful of clubs with tip walks and personally dont like it at all. I work during the day so that there is less time to spend going around to customer after customer for a dollar. Thus less customes in general. A dollar is the usual tip from a guy on the loop in a tip walk. Honestly, Id rather work the floor instead of spending the extra 10 min during the day shift walking for tips. Its not that I dont want their dollar I just wish it came with 19 other dollars for a dance instead.

I go on stage about once hour and then 10min tip walk afterwards. The max usually is about 6-8 girls on day shift working. I work for 6 hours and that amounts to approximately 1 hour (or more) of doing tip walks during my shift. However, there is another way is paying $75 for the house fee and not going on stage at all during your shift. If I am the only girl who doesnt do tip walks or go on stage how will that look to the customers? Just trying to maximize my money making time at work. Which way do you think is the best way to make the most money?

btw: dances are $20 and I keep all of it except 10% to the dj and 10% bouncers. The house fee varies by the time you start your shift from 0-40. I usually pay about 20.

im not sure how it will look in the day time, but at night i don't go on stage. however, my club is big enough that no one notices. i guess my only thought is to really evaluate how much money you make off the stage overall, mostly when not at tip rail. i've found that i make 0 from being on stage but guys DO ask "when am i going to see you up there honey?" which i have always thought was a push off anyways, but, I've found that, "I am not going up today" or "I was just up before you came in" works well to keep the conversation moving towards the close.
my overall verdict: you have nothing to lose in trying it.

    Love it!

At the club I used to work at we had tip walks, and I loved them there because on weeknights, hardly any guys would go up to the stage, and we had to be on stage for either 3 or 4 songs. So it was nice to be able to walk around after to get tips for that time, and during the tip walk I would spend a couple minutes with each customer and bring up the subject of lap dances with each customer. I often could get a couple to buy dances from me. We also had a drink hustle, so this was a good time for me to get them to buy me shots (NA of course).

At the club I'm at now, we don't do tip walks, but they aren't necessary here because guys actually come tip at the stage, and in this case, while I could make a lot of extra money doing the tip walk, it really isn't necessary because guys at this club are more willing to spend money and tip at the stage than at the other club.

During the tip walk, just spend extra time with each customer, and tell them that if they liked your stage show, they'll like a private dance even better (or whatever line you like to use), and use this time with them to figure out which ones may be interested in spending more time with you.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.

Perhaps you should do an experiment and work a few days without doing the tip walk. Whe customers inquire just say that you have more fun with customers when you can spend more time on the floor etc. Do this a few days and see how it goes. You'll have a lot more time to sell dances on the floor without having to fight for $1 bills.

Try selling dances DURING the tipwalk. Who says you HAVE to do a full tipwalk after every set? If you sell a dance during that time, then just do the dance and skip the rest of the tipwalk.

^^ Actually that happens alot. I think I'll give both a try. I guy will say to me "hey join me" while tipping me during my tip walk but I feel obligated to finish my tip walk. I just thought that guys would think that their dollar tip 'isnt good enough' if I didnt come around. I mean its nice of them to want to tip but Id rather spend my time with a customer for a high dollar amount.

You have to do what will make you the most money and not worry about hurting a customer's feelings because they were going to tip you a dollar when someone else might get a VIP instead. Try both and do it both on the same day of the week so you really get an accurate amount because I make more on the weekends than I do during the week so if I did that during the week but not the weekend or vice versa, I wouldn't know for sure. Try it, what do you have to lose?

I used to stop half way through all the time. If a guy asks me to join him, I probably have a pretty good chance of selling dances and drinks, so I skip the rest of the tip walk. I think that the overall consensus from guys I've asked is that they really don't like the tip walk anyway- they always say that if they wanted to tip the girl they'd go to the stage and do it- so I don't think any customers would really mind if you skipped them. While most customers will tip on a tip walk, I think that many actually would rather not, but do just to be nice.

This is how I would operate at my club in Florida. After I'd collect the tip, I'd ask if they wanted a dance and/or me to come back and spend time with them. Usually they would say "no I dont want a dance right now come back in 10min" which was fine w/ me because by the time I got done walking around it was time to get his dance. Ask every customer if they'd like a dance/company. It makes the world of difference. I saw girls all to often just collect their tip and keep moving.

Yeah, TM, don't worry about offending the dollar tippers. If you can sell a dance during the tipwalk, don't even think twice, just do it. You can go back and approach the guys you didn't get to, AFTER you're done with your customer. Chances are, if they wanted you and are still there, they'll be an even easier sell because they will have seen you being 'popular' with other customers
