Default Flattering styles for bottom heavy shape?

Okay, I'm going shopping on Saturday to try and get an outfit to wear for my audition when I get one(which I am going to attend...I am going. *deep breath*). The shoes I have are white with little rows of silver mirrors on the top of them, so I need something white probably to match. Dark blue might look nice though...anyway. I'm definitely pear shaped: B cup, jutting collarbones, thin until the hip area. My legs are very thick and muscular (I imagine I could probably kick down a door if I needed to) and I carry a little bit of fluff on my hips, butt and inner thigh.

So...what kinds of cuts of tops and bottoms do you guys think are most flattering? I know tube tops are out, and I find that booty shorts cover, but make me look bigger. Maybe a super low V-neck halter top of some sort? A dress?

Before my BA I used to wear off the shoulder dresses and halter tops. I stayed away from shiny material (lyrcra too) and went for semi-sheer or lacey things instead. Stay away from pleats and if you want to wear a skirt go for form fitting instead of flared. I mean I still have 39' inch hips but Im more even now I still wear stuff thats hip flattering.
I really like and still wear this:

Similar body type to me, except I've got little stick legs.

NO LONG GOWNS! Awful on a B-cup with hips.

If your stomach is nice, as much midriff-baring stuff as possible. Focus the attention in the curve of your waist; you should have a nice one if you've got hips.

Short tube dresses (just covering the bum) are also good...best if it's got padding/built-in bra.

I personally live in a string bikini...best style on me, hands down.

Can you go to a dancer store and just try on a bunch of things? I'm shaped like a pear and a lot of things I thought would look good on me online didn't look good in person. I tend to look best in a short skirt that is sort of A-line and a top with some shape but that's my specific body. I've tried on a lot of those "stripper" looking outfits in the stores and they look horrible on my body. I look better in skirts and dresses.

I agree w/ Paige, avoid the full booty shorts. They can make your ass seem bigger (& not in a good way) and can also make your hips look really wide from the front. Before my BA I tried to avoid most triangle tops as well. I found a few that looked great, but most completely covered my poor little boobies & I realized I could find much more flattering choices. Look for outfits with a bit of padding up top, they are hard to find, but a good costume shop will generally have a few. I would definitely try everything on until you are comfortable you know what looks good, then you could try ordering online.

I love my booty shorts!! the catch is I found some that aren't cut straight across at the front but are more in a V shape...makes my legs look longer and leaner.
