    Default Double workouts?

I'm toying with the idea of doing two forms of exercise in one day--in my case, Bikram plus the gym for aerobics & weights--on the same day, one day per week.

Pretty sure I can handle a double workout. But is there a specific, added benefit to this idea?

Anyone here who works out 2x or more per day have an opinion?

I wouldn't advise it. Your body needs rest...working it out that hard is only going to increase your chance of injury. If you are not happy with the speed that you are losing weight/toning up...look at your eating habits.

I used to teach several aerobics/toning classes a day...while I shaped up really fast, I also wore out my knee much faster...and I was constantly exhausted...there just comes a point where too much is just too much.

The quantity of workouts is not the same as a quality workout. If you are working out as hard as you can when you workout...you won't need to go back for a second round the same day.

You can consult Arnold Schwarzenegger's body building guide. He would do double workouts. Just doing it one day a week might be OK. www.amazon.com/New-Encyclopedia-Modern-Bodybuilding-Updated

^ I missed the doing it once per week thing. Sorry! If its not every day, then it should be fine (just listen to your body). Doing double workouts every day is not good for your body.

Thanks, VG & Opt. I will try this idea, in part to keep myself occupied on those its-a-holiday-lets-eat-more days coming up.
