    Smiley A good cry

So my hubby is camping with the guys.....and I realize this is one of those chances where I can pop in a good cry movie. You know what I mean, those silly movies girls watch, where they know they're going to cry, and the story usually has some very dramatic point and then some WAY too conveniant to be true ending.....

and we love it. and we cry our eyes out. and for some girlishly sick reason we do it on purpose!

    So.....What's your fave cry movie?

Tonight I watched Lake House. I hadn't seen it before...but I just knew it'd be a tear jerker. Not bad. But my all time fave is What Dreams May Come.....ahhhhhh.

"He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"

Totally was.....but it still got me tearing up. I think I like the odd ones then because Moulin Rouge does it for me too. Hmmmm......

Oh...and some classic Disney cartoons too..... yah, I'm a dork, I'm okay with that.

Used to love Steel Magnolias, but I can't even watch that now...too close to home.

Let's see. Beaches tears me apart. That old movie Imitation of Life is a good one (even my mother, Mt. Rushmore, cried at that one).

Oh, and Star Wars Episode III. Cannot handle Padme telling Anakin that he's breaking her heart or Obi Wan telling a dying Anakin that he was "supposed to be the chosen one".

    The Color Purple
Some of those Japanimation films (the name of the particular film escapes me, but one of them made me boo-hoo like no tomorrow)

Oh, also I like to put on a good record. "Superstar" by Luther Vandross makes me tear up, but "Strawberry Wine" by Deanna Carter makes me absolutely BAWL, it makes me so homesick. I didn't like country music until I moved up north. Hmmph.

    Aaaah, I miss Georgia...

This probably gets me my "Man" card revoked but I'll answer:

    Movie: "The Joy Luck Club"
Song: "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues"
"Women, not girls, rule my world" - Prince

"No parking on the dance floor" - Midnight Star

Yeah me too, but I'll vote for "The Notebook" and "A Walk to Remember". You can't live in a house with only women and not have to watch these.....

No way do your man cards get rovoked! A man having enough sensitivity to cry at something sad gets many snuggles from this woman.

Forgot about Joy Luck Club and The Notebook. Both worthy contenders in this category.

Ohhhh! Forgot about Man in the Moon, I bawled like a lil baby....*sigh*

And AZDD, no your man card is perfectly safe with that admission! I've managed to wrangle my man into watching a "girl" flick once or twice and if I catch him tearing up at any point (even if he did pull a nose hair to do it) I will instantly be in his lap and snuggeling!

Yeah.....that was pretty rough. I didn't expect that in a sci fi but he really broke my heart with that one. I went in expecting not to like Anakin at all but I really felt bad for them all. Except Darth Mol--that ASSHOLE!

Joy Luck Club even got my ex to crying. Even after he complaimed the whole way to the movie! And don't get me started on Color Purple!!

Best sad son in Mariah's One Sweet Day or Celine's Because You Loved Me.

I cried like a fool during 'Hero' The folks I went with were all about it because of the martial arts coolness, but I came unglued. Beautiful, amazing movie.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Also the first movie that made me see Jim Carrey as attractive. Odd.

When I want a good cry, I read Pedro and Me by Judd Wynick. It's a graphic novel about Pedro Zamora from The Real World San Francisco, who died of AIDS at age 22. God, the story just carries you along on sooo many emotional heartstrings.
