Okay, I’m not of the generation that uses Myspace or text messages all that much, but I do rely heavily on email for business and personal communications.
So it drives me batty when friends, especially, don’t reply (or, lamely, after a number of days) to my emails. For instance, I want to check to see if the after-work plans my pals and I talked about (in person AND in email) a week ago are still going forward after work tonight. So on Sunday, I sent around a note, asking when and where we’d meet tonight. Silence. Also on Sunday, I let a friend know about the plan, asking if she wanted to tag along. More silence. Simple civility would dictate that these folks reply, even if it’s to say, “We decided against it tonight” or “Thanks for the invite, but I’ve got plans. Next time.” Am I wrong to be infuriated? I always get back to these people. Always.
