    Default What happened to style?

It seems to me that a great deal of art in stripping has been lost. Many dancers simply take off articles of clothing with no more panache than if they were getting ready for a shower at home. There is something extremely enticing about a dancer who makes an event of removing each item. This is, after all, strip "tease." String-tie tops, and panties or thongs with side clips or ties, provide great opportunity for dancers to undress in ways that are artistic and dramatic and can really get a guy's heart racing. I love to tip dancers who do those extra things to add beauty and erotic art to their performances. Sadly, there seem to be few such performers left.

much of it has to do with many guys not wanting a performance. a growing number of customers are coming to the club to see what they see on MTV and get the highest mileage possible. i -wish- everyone had the same opinion as you. i love performing. i love dancing and i love giving private sultry, sensual, -dances-. but... many guys just want the girl to "hurry up and take it off" and then "shake that ass" for 5 minutes. because of that, a lot of the younger girls never learn to "striptease".

The last time (no, pretty much every time) I tried to tease and remove my clothing with flair, the PL started reaching out and tugging on my clothing or complain that I was moving too slow. I know how to create a mood, an atmosphere, but that's not what these uncultured swine want, and I still need to get paid.

What happened to style? In a word: lapdance!

The vast majority of customers we see in the clubs now are NOT interested in any style. They just want their dicks rubbed by a naked girl as much as possible for their $20 (or $10, or whatever the price is).

The vast majority of girls working in strip clubs now, started dancing AFTER this change took over, and so they never learned how to do a real striptease, because they never had to.

As above poster said, I too have had many guys complain to me that I take too long to get my clothes off, etc. However I don't care - I still do my thing. Amazingly, I still make money, I imagine in part because even though they complain, they really do like a tease. Most of them don't really know what they want, fortunately. It's up to us to TELL them

Believe me ladies, those young punks who are filling up our clubs now, yelling at us to "shake that ass", LIKE to be teased by a woman who knows what she's doing. Because while they give their $1s to the girls who shake their ass the fastest on stage, they're giving their $20s to ME

    Two words
    COST
    BENEFIT

    and one more: Rules

There is little benefit to putting on a good stage show. Frequently much benefit to just ripping your clothes off and getting the hell off the stage. Moreover, thre are frequently rules about what you have to have off when - club owners and managers don't share your respect for artistic decisions and integrity in stripping.

^^Those rules don't hinder style. Any decent stripper with some smarts can figure out how to remove her clothes with style, and still follow those dumbass rules regarding what to take off when.

I'm tellin yas, the lapdance is the root of what's killed stripper style.

    Exactly.

The axiom of, "Pearls before swine," is in full effect in SCs, but that said, the girls that keep my attention do manifest a certain uniqueness of style, presentation and approach.

Hahahaha cuntsphyxia. But I agree with the other posters, guys want ass much as they can get for their buck. Hell, lapdances aren't even legal here, and I had a guy try to take back the two bucks he gave me on stage because I kept my skirt on. *nude club, no panties* But it goes along with the rest of the current generation, no one wants to wait for anything anymore, they want everything RIGHT NOW.

Style, class, intelligence, imagination--these are not qualities which are highly valued in stripclubs, for the most part. The man or woman who displays them is likely to be unappreciated, at best, marked as strange and shunned at worst.

I have definitely found this to be the case in the state of Florida, in or out of stripclubs.

My present club is much better than the usual for this state, but still there is a noticeable dearth of style, on the part of dancers and customers alike, with certain notable exceptions. Sad but true...

Egads I wish more men paid attention to strip tease. I've had to nearly stop because it kills my money to put effort into undressing!

My advice to the OP is to get on a plane to Phoenix, find out where Bridgette is working, take a bulging tiproll, and she will give you more style than you can possibly handle. That girl oooozes style from every pore of her body!

It really annoys me that dancers don't bother to striptease anymore during lapdances. I could care less if a customers complains that I'm going too slow--if he doesnt want more dances after the first (which I highly doubt) than I didnt have to do much in the first place.

thats why I wrote an article about giving better LDs...when you take your time and make it sensual & sexy, most will get more than one song. Im a firm believer in a good striptease. On the days when I look bored, stay with my back to the guy, and dont take my time, I ALWAYS come home with less $$.

I also have waaaaay more fun when I give it all I got. That stare of amazement from a man as I take it off slow is PRICELESS!
I'm getting my Dial-A-Stripper service up and running again. If you are in NYC or NJ and are interested in private party dancing, email [email protected] with your SW handle, contact info, photo (if you have one) & best time to call and I'll get back to you asap.

If you're having a party and need strippers, email me with the details and any questions you have. Thanks!

I was just talking about this to one of the most amazingly intellectual women...

allow me to quote my thoughts on this:

I think an argument could be made that the current epidemic of the average customer becoming shrewd faster with the added bonus of grabby and extra requests for offensively stingy reimbursements is directly proportional to the induction of dancers who lack in enough class in their job to be looked at as something unique thus perpetrating the allusion that the gap between strippers and hookers (not judging either just defining a difference) is closing.

OK, so I dressed last night like I used to in other clubs almost every night I worked, nice black pants, a new black shirt with no collar, and a dark textured fabric jacket. I would routinely get asked if I was the owner or manager when I used to do this in Daytona.

I haven't dressed up much down here because 1) No one, I mean no one, ever does. 2) It's usually way too fuckin' hot, lol.

Had the night off and went to several clubs, including my own. It went over fairly well, and also kept me warm (I can't believe it gets so cold down here!).

However there was one dancer at my club who was actually angry I dressed up, believe it or not. She kept staring at me in a hostile, suspicious way, and finally asked why I was wearing so much black--my answer being because I like black. It was quite strange.

Just delivering my update, as promised...

The gap has closed in a lot of clubs, such as my last one--there is no illusion involved, unfortunately.

Thankfully in my present club they are quite strict, so that even if it is a full-nude, full-contact club, there is a much greater attitude of respect towards the dancers, and greater focus on the stage.

I was most impressed with those few holdouts in the last club who actually attempted to put on a stage show, and succeeded--not an easy task under those circumstances.

It's usually the young, bachelor party type of guys that yell "hurry up and take it off, you're taking too long". When I hear that, I say to them, "Be Patient" and then I'll take even longer and tease the hell out of them!!! Usually when you take longer, they'll start tipping you more because they want you to take it off so freaking bad! I refuse to be one of those dancers that just rips my clothes off. It's so boring!

When a friend of mine encountered that (or other non-tippers) she would tap the tip rail and walk away.

It is sad. A while back we were on alert for undercovers, many of the girls were entirely clueless as what to do if not plop on the mans lap and grind away. When I demonstrated a legal table dance, they were blown away. It does take a lot more talent to keep a guy involved without rubbing his cock or shoving tits in his face..and sadly those are the things most customers want nowadays. If I could use my talent and style...and make as much money as the grind does, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I miss the old days!

Personally I love the dancing part of an exotic dancer. To me their style is how they carry themselves on and off stage. The way they walk the way they move to me all is about style. I've never seen a girl tease her clothes off though I imagine I would love it. However to me style is in the actual dance. I hate it when a girl picks up a song like highway to hell and then comes out on stage with zero energy and basically doesn't even dance along with the music. I usually tip according to talent (sometimes for beauty. If I know the girl.) but even if the girl doesn't look great if she's got style she'll have my attention.

I'm with Bridgette, blame the lapdance.

Last month at work I was doing my thing, I got on stage and was there for maybe 30 seconds and some guy starts yelling "Show me the pussy". I'm talking 30 seconds of a three song (12 minute) set.

I stopped dancing and said to him "Appearently you are missing the point of stripTEASE."

Just to be an ass, I left my panties on until the last few seconds of my set.

Yeah, the lapdance phenomenon has done much to ruin the business, as I tried with limited success to point out in that thread about customers' erections.

As far as I am concerned, it's all about the stage--that's why I do what I do, instead of drawing more shopping centers.

I could agree with bridgette as well. I mean I strongly remember my first dance in pompono beach going "Wow... She can do that? She must really like me"

I know I say it a lot, however, what bares repeating is my entrance into the strip club was 'expect to pay to see nude chicks, and tip for conversation'. And I mean I really went my first few clubs paying for conversation not interested in a dance till a girl said 'I want to dance for you'. When she did, and she did grind, my perception changed from there.

I still give a little tease with my t-backs, and remove them slowly and in a manner that gets the other guys attention so that they want to experience for themselves. I do wish that men would appreciate the sensual mental aspect of a strip tease but alas we do have to remember they are men. You do get some that enjoy a true performer, it is nice to get those fellas every now and then.

That's interesting. I get complimented on all four of those things on a regular basis, and I bank 99% of the time. It's all in how you carry yourself and the confidence you put out. I really wouldn't know how to do it any other way.
