Thinking about changing my hair color...

I've been a freckled blue-eyed blonde my whole life. I'm a dark, ashy honey blonde, and I get highlights every few months. Sometimes I put pink streaks in it.

I'm getting bored with it though. When I was 13, I dyed my hair a darkish auburn and it was really pretty, but I got sick of keeping up with it. My roots look really ashy against the red, so I have to touch them up more, and my eyebrows are so ashy I have to keep them pencilled. I'd also have to keep myself completely shaved so the carpet will match the drapes.

Still... red hair goes really well with my skin tone and freckles, and I'm bored with blonde. In California, EVERYBODY's blonde. I'm going back to stripping when I get back to L.A., and I'm thinking of going with a very dark auburn and more of a gothy look. What do y'all think?

If I don't like it, how much trouble will it be to restore me to my normal blonde? Do you think I'd make more as a redhead? I'm debating...

I'm a blonde too, kinda honeyish but I lighten it. I get so bored with it, but I've just discovered that nothing else really goes well with my colouring. Nothing else looks as nice, much as I would love to be an auburn girl myself (i've heard that pinkish skin looks bad with reddish hair, so maybe that was my problem). But I think you've got nothing to lose by trying. I don't take hair all that seriously though, so maybe don't listen to me, lol. I hear you on the bored with blonde thing though. And there aren't even that many blondes around here.

I'v ebeen so many colors, but it was the hardest going back from red to blond. I too did the deep auburn thing... feria # 55 among others, but that one looked the best... and it took me multiple times o fdying it blond over and over again to get it back to a decent shade without any orangy too it, and then I had to deepen that shade and grow my hair out for months because it was so dry, though not to the point of breaking off, just rough looking.

Red looks awsome on me, but I need color in my wordrobe, and so many many things look terrible on redheads, not to mention summer time... and red is a commitment. When I am an old buisness woman and my buisness attire is blah I will deffinately go back red, but right now I'm sticking with browns blonds and only slight strawberry colors. Try a medium to light brown maybe, with some reddish brown highlights , so not all your hair will be terribly damaged if you change your mind. Browns also look amazing with your eyecolor.

Hey, what religion you got? 'cause I get to live TWICE!

Red/auburn is a nice color, but if you go over blonde,it will start washing out super fast and you will have to have touch ups every couple of weeks.Fading is the biggest problem for red over blonde.

What you can also do is go to a wig store and try on some different color wigs to see how they will look on you, this really helps.
