Default "it's all about the money for you..."

when you're trying to sell a dance or room and they give you a stupid line like "it's all about the money for you girls, isn't it?" or "you're just after my money"...how do you respond? Preferably, how do you respond with something that will turn things back around and (usually) get you the sale?

Another version of this is when I'm trying to sell a room and the guy says something like "well if you were into me at all you'd do it for free (or for less)". um, wtf? I have no idea what to say to that. (Well, i have some ideas of what i'd LIKE to say, but they're uber-rude and would definitely cost me the chance at closing the sale. )

guess i have to add the disclaimer--yes, i did a search first. Nothing came up that was particularly helpful though...i thought for sure this would have been discussed before.

The classic male fantasy is a dancer being turned on by being naked in front of him, so a good line is "this is my dream job - I do something I enjoy and get paid for it. Wouldn't you like to earn money for something you get a kick out of doing?"

If he asks why won't you do it for free, ask him if he enjoys his job. If (hopefully) he says yes, ask him if he does overtime for free for the sheer fun of it. Tell him that although this is your dream job, you've got bills to pay, just like him.

Yeah Phil-W Is totally right. The normal everyday male fantasy is to have a girl with him and getting naked because she enjoys him. Of course that rarely is the case I think (Not being a dance I wouldn't know, but at least I know my friends I go with to the club think just this.)

As far as those guys talking about free dances, hell with him. I REALLY don't understand why they think just because its a strip club that it is totally different then work. I mean say if a person worked at mm......lets say a hardware store. Are you going to go in there and ask him if your going to get a FREE lawnmower? Its the same thing pretty much. Guys who come into the strip club and think that they should be getting "Freebies" are just dumb. Those people need to wake up. Sorry for the small rant but that just bothers the hell out of me.

Phil's suggestion is a good one. If they gave me static after that, I would leave. He'a gonna be a problem anyway.......

exactly. i always bring up the customer's job when they give me that line. it helps enforce the strip club isn't a regular club where you go to pick up girls. we -work- there.

I just say, "No, baby, I'm all about you"....and I say it in an obviously sarcastic way and they usually respond positively...They just want to see you crack....A lot of girls have no sales skills so when they see someone actually "working" for their money in the sales sense, they try to throw your schpiel. Humor them.

When guys (usually the young ones) ask for free dances, my standard comeback is,"Come on now, I don't come to McDonald's and ask you for free happy meals!" They usually get pretty insulted and start mumbling about how they don't work at McDonald's...it's pretty funny!

Just recently I told a customer who asked for a free dance that my club keeps track of all my dances (my club doesn't) and that when they found out I came up with one short, I'd not only have to pay them back for that dance but I'd also get fined for it as well. He was like, "Oh, really? Oh, I'm so sorry for asking. Well, thanks for the other dances, have a good night sweetie". Hahahahahaha Just think of ways to f$ck with them back. Another customer on the same night thought that I should buy her a beer with the money that her husband gave me for the dance I just gave her. So instead of arguing with her I said "We dancers are not allowed to buy drinks for customers, it's against the law here in our county" So she was like "Oh, I've heard of that before, it's ok, don't worry about it". (there's no law in our county that has that) So, I found it more fun to make a game out of it and to f$ck with them back. Come up with a good answer back. If you're trying to sell a VIP and the guy says "It's all about the money, why don't you do it for free" tell him that you're not allowed to, the club doesn't allow you to do that or something like that or what others have said here. Just have a feisty come back line, take them by surprise with a come back line, it'll blow them away! Also, guys who ask for freebies you could say "It's ok if you can't afford it, you know men who come to this guy to go to our VIP area are meant for men who can afford it" Men's ego are in the Money Status and their Penis. When you say it's ok if you can't afford it, he'll be like "Yes I can afford it" and then he'll probably get the VIP just to proove he can afford it!!!

I like this, at least they can't really try and talk you into it anymore if you say that the club keeps track of your dances, and you pay the house per dance. A lot of clubs do keep track of all private dances, so it makes perfect sense!

When guys say that all strippers care about is the money, I just go on and on about how much I really love dancing, and how its fun to get to talk to different guys, but of course I'm working here, not providing some sort of volunteer service!!
With all the stupid things guys will say, stay cool.

"Her apartment is littered with soggy G-strings and cheap 8-inch heeled shoes, along with empty tubes of body glitter, mascara, prescription drugs, zit cream, Aqua Net and Polaroid pictures of her and her "friends" engaged in some drinking and dancing on St. Patrick's Day last year. " My God....

I sarcastically say, yeah because god forbid I come to WORK to earn money!!! Don't get too harsh, but do remind them that you don't volunteer. I've been dancing 4 years, I'm here for the money, not the practice.

When they ask if it's all about the money for me I give them a half truth... "Ya know, I have to admit...I really do get a kick out of getting paid to do something I love.... But then again I think everyone should have the opportunity to get paid for doing what they love...don't you?" TOTAL Miss America answer.... gag. hehehe, but it works every single time.

Now when guys ask if they can get something for free....I just laugh and say "Oh that's funny...good one!" and then act like they never even brought it up.

plus you could always make the idea of making money in a sexual sense a turn on for you, like that one demi moore movie where she slept with the guy for a milion dollars (never saw it, just remember her rolling around in the money.) that way they're feeding your sexual fetish and getting turned out doing it.

To me, guys asking for free dances is an insult, and I generally don't mind losing potential customers who are insulting right off the bat. What are they going to think you "owe" them after (or IF) they actually spend money on you?

Honestly, I don't have the energy to come up with replies to that type of dumb shit. If someone says that to me I just say, "Yep, wanna dance?" and I'm on my way with it. There's always another customer around the corner who won't give you flak for trying to make a buck.
