    Default Need Advice To Get In Shape

    OK...so first of all thanks for helping me out.


    Now....I haven't danced since Jan. due to a stupid decision based on an abusive ex.....PAST IS THE PAST...live and learn.

    Point is, I haven't danced, or worked out (pilates) during this past time...so I am not overly heavy, but I have 0 muscle tone (you know what I mean).


    What is the best exercise regimen you guys have found to show results? I am going to be dedicated ...only set back is my pelvis injury which makes common workouts so hard, and why my situation is a bit odd...I went about 6 months. on reformer pilates before to get in shape...and now that I have no funds to support this expensive training I am seeking advice to see what you may recommend.

    Do Mat Pilates. You can usually rent Mari Windsor (and other types) of DVD's from your local library.

    Doing push ups, sit ups, etc at home will also help you.

    Core training and posture work to start. If you try to weight train at this point, you'll only exacerbate the issue. With a pelvis injury, it's likely that your body has been thrown out of allignment. Make sure with your doc that you're good to train, then I'd start with resistance bands (not weights!!!) 3x a week.
