I'm used to a gas oven, and in my new place I have a kind of old electric. Now it might be a little off by a few degrees, but the oven gets hot. Very hot. Not, like, lukewarm.
However. It does not seem to heat food. We made mannicotti put it in an oven that was hot for 45 minutes. We went back to the oven, it was still hot, but the food was cold. Not warm, not lukewarm. Cold. Well, maybe cool. We've had a similar problem with other foods.
Now, this, to me, seems to defy all physics. But before concluding that our oven is haunted and calling our landlord to explain THAT, I thought I'd try here. Does anyone have any idea how this can happen? How can an oven be hot and not heat what is inside it - oh, and did I forget to mention that the pan was hot? It was just the food that was not? What the fuck?
