Default Is Hustling hard exhausting to anyone?

I'm wondering if it's just me, I find that nights that I really hustle hard for my money (like last night) I find that I'm physically, psycologically & emotionally exhausted when the night is over. Last night was a rough night, I was one of the top earners last night, most girls left with barely anything, I have to say that the reason I did as well as I did is because I hustled my a$$ off. Does anyone else find hard hustling to be draining on them too? (I hope this is in the right forum topic, don't know if it belongs in HH or SG) Thanks!

sure is, which is why most dancers won't work that many nights in a row. It's draining. The most you hustle, the more you have to play mind games, face rejection and move around the club.

It does make the time go by a lot quicker though (I find).

Also, I get exhausted just dancing a lot...usually that happens when I'm hustling more. However, on busy nights when everyone wants a dance, and I don't stop dancing...well, the money's awsome, but I start getting real tired. It's a good feeling when I get home though. So accomplished!

By the end of a good night I find myself more mentally exhausted than physically. The mind games and the bullshit really drains me. But its worth it in the end. Thats usually why I do better working everyother day.

Hey, its hard work. You aren't going to make this kind of money sitting on your ass or in an office job. When I had a couple of nights just hustling my ass off, I would take several days off to recoup. Then, back to the drawing board!

it can be. those long "pulling teeth" shifts can leave you drained. i leave many shifts feeling exhausted mentaly because i had to talktalktalktalktalk guys out of their money and deal with all of the "game" bullshit that goes along with that. sometimes i long for a no hustle environment. also, i don't have regulars at this club yet. at my first club (i moved around a lot the last 6 months.. was at my first club for a long time) i had many regulars, so i didn't need to hustle strangers as much. i miss that. :/

Yes of course. This is one of the biggest reasons I get so annoyed when guys (or civilian chics) say stupid crap like "oh I wish I could strip and make all that easy money". Grr!!! There is NOTHING easy about it.

It's physically demanding - all that dancing, walking, getting up and down, etc, on high heels, is exhausting.

Never mind the mental and emotional drainage from dealing with so many people on such an intimate level

Um...that was a bit harsh?? Work shouldn't be so extremely exhausting so much that you don't enjoy it, and that's any kind of work.

I find it exhausting, mostly mentally. It's why I rarely work Saturday nights...because even though it can be fantastic money...I have to weigh up what the price of what my sanity is. If I work a night where I hustle hard I generally am in a "piss off and die mood" for the next day or 2 which means I can't work.

But there are some girls I know who hustle HARD and it doesn't get to them. But I find their personality is very different to mine. They're very nice girls, but they're the kind you know you don't want to screw around with, they just have that attitude...

I've seen girls wind up in tears at the end of the night because of all the crap they put up with while they were hustling though. I refuse to let it make me feel like that. It may be work, but if you're hating it, you won't want to work for very long.

Oh, no I'm not hating it, I for the most part really like dancing. I'm finally really starting to understand the true meaning of hustling and being aggresive. And what I'm really starting to understand is the whole mind game about it. It's taken 6 months to really understand it. Before, I would come home very tired (physically) from all the dancing and somewhat mentally drained, but now that I'm understanding the game aspect of it, I've found it to be exhausting in a different way. I can say that now that I'm really starting to get it, I'm liking it more and it's motivating me to work harder than ever! I had such a hard time before because I didn't have the full confidence, I felt uncomfortable talking to customers about money and I certainly didn't know how to hustle at all so it was always more of luck before.

I've read most of the threads on Hustle Hut which have helped me a lot, but it's weird because it's so different from reading it and then actually "getting it" like a light bulb finally going off. Do you all know what I mean by that?

Finally, the light bulb has gone off and it's tiring but making dancing more fun because I'm really starting to like the whole game behind it that I never really knew before these past couple of weeks!

it's so very exhausting leogirl, which, as emily said, is why i rarely work two nights in a row unless i must for an event or something.

chrissy's good ideas for dealing with the hustle-exhaustion:
    1. take a bath/shower when you get home/before bed.
    2. stretch out for at least 5 minutes after work while STILL at work
    3. develop a routine for after work. (i.e. mine is: food, dog walking, shower, online fun/movie/tivo-ed show, reading (good for relaxing and calming the brain down), sleep)
    4. aromatherapy candles that are soothing like lavender, etc.
    5. recounting your money to prove it was worth it

but in the end im sure you have realized that #5 makes it alllllll worthwhile.

    Love it!

Okay, anyone that thinks dancing is fun is off their rocker. It can be fun, but let's get real. The real fun is counting your money.

I think this is very true:

it's not for everyone. You must have the type of personality where little shit doesn't get to you. I'm not saying it never happens to me, but it's rare (maybe once a year). I blow it all off rather easily.

Husling makes me quite sleepy. I am very sensitive and its extremely hard for me... Thus making me KNOW theres really no long term goals in the SC for me.

If only stripping was as easy as in the movies... Like strip tease! Fuckin Demi goes on stage like once and hour hangin out in a dressing room with a couch and guys throw money all over the stage AND she doesnt even take her thong off.... That would be the shit.

But in reality after dancing my ass off on stage and then mentally surviving the hard times, trying to remember names and faces when I'm on stage (for later hustle use) and then the actual lap dancing.... MAN its tiring... Not to mention the shoes I wear doing it all.

Ehh stripping isnt easy money and it really goes beyond looks. I wish I could go further with it but its payin my way through college now.... but man am I to weak for it!

Hi, my name is Susan, and I'm off my rocker. Not saying it's a nonstop party but I frequently have fun at work, especially since moving to Portland.

But of course I will agree that hard hustling is tiring and that the money you make is the reward -- nothing like those nights where every damn customer only buys one or two dances and you have to talk to a hundred guys to make your money, having the same exact conversation over and over and over again until you just start making up insane crap to amuse yourself and not go crazy . . .

Um, yeah, my night last night ended up like that a little.

I think hustling is hard when you have to do it for every single dance all night long. Some nights go by and I don't hustle a bit, it all just seems to flow naturally and the guys like me and the money comes. Other nights it's a lot more difficult. I'm not really a hustler by nature, so it wears me down pretty fast when I feel like I'm making my money one dollar at a time.

I've noticed that I put a lot of pressure on myself on Saturday nights, and last night I decided to back it off a bit and I had just as good of a night as I would have had if I'd hustled every guy in the room. Of course, I didn't sit on my butt and do nothing, but I did relax a bit and let some of the guys come to me rather than trying to convince them to get dances. I can't just ask ask ask all night long, it doesn't work for me.

    YES!

its VERY emoitonaly draining to have to talk to a bunch of different guys, faking laughs, interest and attraction and flirtation. not to mention trying to think of new ways to TURN down men while still trying to get them to spend $$$ on me.
then fend off your body from gropey/perveted men.

i agree, that counting your $$$ at the end of the night is very satisfiying. i tend to "forget" what went on at the club by the next day. i try to keep that seperate from my life outside the club.

i jus try to pretend like its not "myself" at the club. i try to just get into my stripper persona. (which still can be drianing) i just think of how i rather be doing this (socializing, basically) instead of a usual job getting paid way less with MORE bullshit. working at a strip club, u get bullshit too, but its a different kind , i think.

I'm not saying it can't be fun, but it's not fun to kiss ass to some guy who I wouldn't even look twice at in a normal environment in the hopes that he'll let me rub my body all over his dick.

That's essentially what it is to me. Fun is a byproduct of this (like, if he happens to have a cool personality.)

Well, hell no, that part isn't fun. Although I don't really give a damn about whether or not I'd look at them twice outside of work, that doesn't make it any more or less fun. If he's an asshole, yeah, that makes it harder, and I know you guys deal with a hell of a lot more of that out East than I do in the laidback Pacific Northwest.

What is fun is getting creative with the silly shit we say in order to kiss ass.

Its a relatively easy job given the earnings potential. But age and burnout make it short-lived, so have a fucking blast and keep hustling your ass off!!!

I guess that's why when I dance 2 nights in a row, the 3rd day I sleep all day long!!!!! Even though it's been hard, I have to say what I've learned so far, has been phenomenal!!! The communication & people skills that I've learned so far has been tremendous, something I never would've had before!

No leogirl you are not the only one feeling exhausted. This business can be very exhausting and it goes far beyond the mere act of hustling.

The best thing I can do for me right now is balance. I find myself sleeping a lot more lately, but as long as I'm getting everything else done and not missing a day of work than it's all good.

You definitely don't want to burn out or get sick. So, do your best to rest and enjoy life to the fullest.

Oh God yes, I find it completely draining too. I've described stripping as taking the intensity of a regular work week and compressing it into a five hour shift. When I'm there I'm like a stripping machine but later I feel like I've been pummelled with a 2 by 4. If it weren't so draining in every way I'd be working 60 hour weeks.

As exhausting as it is I don't understand the dancers that don't hustle, that wander around the room once then sit at the bar. The last place I want to be is hanging around a strip club. If I'm going to be there i'm going to work as hard as I can so I can get out as fast as I can.

I think when you first start dancing it seems easier because you're going from maybe $8 an hour to a few hundred a night and it's all so fun and new. Eventually it will become work and that's why I caution newbies from making big financial plans until they've gone from the highs through the lows to the plateau where they find out how often they can realistically work.
