Branching off from the rhinoplasty thread....
Eventually (when health insurance becomes available to me again), I will need to get a septoplasty, because my septum is horribly deveated and causes soooo many sinus issues. My doctors have tried all they can think of (ENTs and PC docs) and it's pretty much known now that nothing but this surgery will help me. My questions:
Since my nose is crooked and such, I'd like to also get a rhinoplasty; would insurance cover both, or just the septoplasty because that's all that's really needed?
Is it better to go through a plastic surgeon or a specialty surgeon (ENT)?
If the docs (they kept throwing drugs at me to avoid doing surgery, even though they know deep down they've admitted surgery is the only way) won't tell the insurance company I need the surgery, so they won't cover it, how much is a good septoplasty/rhinoplasty combo going to cost in total?
How long do these take to heal?
Finally, why after 3 ENTs and 2 primary care doctors telling me they've tried everything they know continue to prolong approving me for needed surgery and instead just keep trying the same damn things (nasal sprays, pills, etc.)? Is this just a ploy to pussy foot around and make more money off me?![]()
