Default went blonde, but no one likes it

    ok
i have always wanted to be blonde. naturally i have brown hair, i have a few natural looking highlights thrown in though. i especially wanted to go blonder for work, because i love the way the blondes hair glows and attracts more attention.
so i got highlights put in and asked for them to be really blonde. they turned out really blonde! and i like the color, but thought it looked a little odd because of my darker eyebrows. well, when i get to work the next night, my manager freaks out and tells me she likes me better with brown hair. and other people say the same thing! only like 2 people said they liked the blonde. i wear really dark eye makeup @ work and some people said it looked weird because of that. but i'm not willing to change my makeup. i really don't want this hair to affect my sales, esp if i think others don't like it, it affects how i feel about myself.

    soooo
i bought an at home lowlights kit and was thinking about putting a few lowlights in, just to darken it up a bit. it's dissapointing because i already spent 90 getting the hightlighs, and i know i'll hear shit from my bf saying i wasted money. i know its not the best idea to do the lowlights myself but i def don't have the money to go back to a salon anytime soon.
    what do you girls think?
should i put the lowlights in? anyone else ever done this themselves???

well i went really dark after being blond for so long a few years back. the dancers all said they loved it, but i didn't get the usual attention from customers. i went back blond. some dancers will say " o it looks great" ( when it doesn't) to rule out competition. i'd say do what you think looks best.

give it a week or so, the color will change a bit by itself. Then see if you like it. Also, the eyebrow thing is a hassell, but once you have even the tiniest bit of roots in your hair, it will look fine again. Also, if you've gotten it done very recently, just call up the person who did it and tell them you'd like a few lowlights just to break up the blond. People do it all the time, its no big deal.

consider dying your eyebrows to a a lighter color. That way you can probably still do the dramatic eye makeup.

Seriously---go back to the stylist and tell him/her it is too severe for you. They will either put some lowlights in or use a toner to tone it down and make it not so harsh. I have done this countless times. Any decent salon will make sure you are happy with the way you look.

On the very slight chance that they don't help you out, I would use a temporary shade to tone your color down--natural instincts or something. You don't want to screw your hair up with permament color--you'd be so upset!
