Yeah, they do say the darndest things.

The other day at the grocery store, this really big, fat lady was walking by eating a box of entenmann's donuts that was in her cart. Makayla looked at her and goes, "Mommy...that lady is too fat!! She shouldn't be eating those donuts!!"

So honest and yet so embarassing...and yes, the lady heard her. *sigh*

Ok...one more...we were standing in the aisle with aluminum foil and all that other stuff. Makayla was standing next to me and Joe was grabbing some aluminum foil. This guy walks behind us and stands across the aisle from us looking for something...he had REEEEEEEEAAAAAALLLLLYYYYY bad body odor...the kind that makes you want to not breathe. Well, little miss Makayla slaps her hand over her nose and turns around (all theatrical like) and says, "He needs to take a bath..." and right then Joe calls Makayla and goes, "Watch this" and starts juggling some aluminum foil which distracted her.

Yes, its really hard to not laugh. I don't want to encourage the behavior and I'll tell her that while what she saying may be true, actually saying this stuff can hurt people's feelings...so we should keep those comments to ourselves...but I have to admit...when Makayla's not looking, Joe and I usually have a really good laugh over it.

I totally know what you mean about being embarrassed, but wanting to laugh in the worst way.

While we were on line, the cashier was an Indian woman with a Bindi. My daughter pointed to it and asked her if she was a cat toy?

(we used to use the laser pointer to play with the cats)

Here's one of me when i was little. I had this lady who used to babysit me and she had real dark hair and she kinda had a little moustache...Like she needed to bleach of wax her upper lip hair pretty bad. Well I was getting out of her car to go home and I looked RIGHT at her and said "Dianne, you are growing a moustache!" My sister was with me and almost DIED. I was like 5 when i said that, my sister was 13. Haha brutally honest.

P.S. To the OP - You have very different names for your children. I love them!

I don't have kids, but I've humiliated my own mother. My mom says that when I was about 3 1/2 and with her in the grocery store line a man witha very large forehead and nose and dumbo ears came up behind us and I said really loudly " mommy that man is reeeeaaaaalllllly ugly, look at him" and then just kept repeating myself over and over, very loudly, because she wouldn't turn her head to look at him.

When my little brother was about 4 and my older sister was learning to drive she ran into a mailbox at a house around the corner and my brother started crying and asked if we were dead.

My mum was dating a black man when this happened. I saw a black lady at the register of a supermarket and said, "Mommy, why did God burn that lady?!"

When my uncle was little, his parents took him out to a seafood restaurant. There was an octopus platter, and my uncle hollered out, "Look at the octopus's testicles!" He meant tentacles, but the whole restaurant roared in laughter, so he repeated himself.

Well your always a kid to your parents in some way. I recently told my mother if she continued discussing bad thanksgivings, I would start charging her for therapy. At least that broke her triade and mad me, The Empress, and my Mom laugh. My father left the table.

My son upon seeing a fat lady, told his mother: "that lady needs to go to the fat doctor" As far as we know he made fat doctor up.

My favorite one though is one time we were mucking around in the car and he was pretending to drive. I asked him where we were we going. "Daddy, I drive and you me go to park"

Recently I was eating some nuts, and he got curious to what I was eating. So he asked me to show him. When I did, he told me to "Dump that yuckie junk food!" So I distracted him by throwing one nut across the yard, while I scoffed the rest down.

I'm just hoping he does not go up to a strange woman and tell her your sexy. LOL He tells the Empress that once a day.... oh I don't know where he got that idea. Sometimes he will see a pretty lady and go oh daddy she's sexxy..... lol

    Warning: Controversial

My mom has two favorite horrifying stories about me:

    1) I was about 5. I had a little friend down the street named Carly. My mom didn't like Carly's mom and called her a "fat pig" in private on a couple of occasions. One day Carly and her mom were walking down the street pushing a stroller. I ran, excitedly, out of the house to greet them and yelled back at my mom from the street, "Look mama! She's not a fat pig! She was pregnant!"

    2) I was about 3 or 4, and very precocious. I have some interesting family--old, Southern racists, to be exact. I was exposed to a lot of their language, but I was also exposed to the idea that they were wrong. One time my mom and I were walking through a mall in a predominately black neighborhood. Very proud of myself, I loudly announced, near a group of black kids hanging out after school, "Mama, you don't call them n******, you don't call them jungle bunnies, you don't call them porch monkeys. You call them 'black people.'" God, how embarrassing!
