I always wonder if business cards for our industry are really worth using. I think most guys we sell to don't want that type of evidence in their pockets...
That said, if I were going to use business cards, I'd put my business phone#, email, website if any, and something describing the service I provide: Bachelor parties, divorce parties, private shows, etc. Discreet, friendly, etc (whatever you want to use as your selling points). Oh and probably a tasteful sexy photo.
Does anyone have experience with business cards here, and do they work?
i use business cards, but they're part of my agency. they contain all the same info as the agency business cards, but they have my name, my picture, and a list of services i'm available for. my agency also let me put my website address on there, as they know i don't take any outside bookings.
bridgette summed it up well though, basically you just need your contact info, and a good but brief description of the service you provide. personally i think it's a good idea to put a photo on there, as it helps guys to remember who you are.
if you want some ideas, ill post a pic of my cards later...

I hand out a lot of cards. It has name, what I do, where you can find me on the net (my site, OMP #, MM #) and contact info. Oh, and of course a pic!

Marasmus ... "Ladies don't fart. They butt-laugh."
Marasmus says, "Oh no, that wasn't gas, it was merely a rectal chuckle."
Marek says, "A friend of mine got punched in the face by a dominatrix stripper about two weeks ago and I thought of you."

i had a friend way back when who used business cards and they said "Lexus Pleasure" or something on there, her name was Lexus. She would talk up her shows ITC and give out the cards and do shows OTC. the more i think back over it, the more i agree with bridgette about that not being something i'd think a custy would want evidence of in his pockets. but in any case, her cards seemed to bring in a ton of "business" for her, although i never got a straight answer as to what exactly the shows entailed.
they had email, phone num and name. no photo.
Love it!

My business cards only have my stage name and my web address. That's evidence enough -- damn if I'm going to put "bachelor parties" or anything on there! But honestly I give them out really rarely, maybe to a couple of customers a month -- of course I'm not in the party business too much lately so I just give them to regs.
But anyway -- just a name and contact info is PLENTY of information, and if you only put a phone # or email on there your customer (and you) still retain plausible deniability.![]()

I was thinking about that too Susan, but then I figured that no matter what you put on it, it's gonna look like a hooker's card to the dude's wife. Moreso if all you have on there is a stagename and phone number or email. But if you have "bachelor parties" and such on it, it is a stripper's card, which MIGHT get him in less trouble. Either way, if the wifey is the jealous type as most are, she won't like it and he'll probably not want to hang onto it in case she finds it.
Of course I could be all wrong. I've never tried using cards because of my feeling that it would probably be a waste, getting tossed in the garbage or parking lot as the guy walks out the door. Do a decent % of guys call/email you from the cards, and do they spend money?
I think this was mentioned in a previous thread, but as far as local laws and the such go....could you get pusted for solicitation (sp) with these cards? Just a thought..
Thanks for everyone's input.i'm really not trying to work for another agency.I sing I have done parties on my own already. Although the last time time I did dance was 7 years ago..But I will be very careful and I appreciate everyone's info input.

In Canada, we use business cards as promotional material to sell...Merchandising of such!
Just laminate and punch a hole in the business card and you have a keychain.
Here there is a pic of the girl (usually her poster or a good body shot.), with her name and website address on the front.
On mine, since I run a business, the back has breifly what I do, telephone #, website again, and a spot left blank to sign!
My business cards are not normal paper business card. I use hard cards, like credit cards or collector cards!
I also make fridge magnets!
Merchandising as well as getting your name out there!
