Default Is it true about Vegas....

I heard that there are some clubs that will let you work without a buissness license(for a week or two). If this is true please post the clubs that will let you work without a problem. Also, what should I expect dancing in vegas that is different from other states? Do they make you "audition" or just talk to the manager? I've heard rumors that management wants to see the way you walk? Do all clubs have offstage fees? can someone post info about offstage fees? Im going in 2 weeks!! So all replies appreciated!!! THANK YOU & Happy holidays

some clubs will let you work without the business license temporarily but NO club will allow you to work without your sheriffs card. you can get your business license after you get the card - the card is the tedious part.

Not True!!! The Sheriffs Card is NOT hard to get!! Probably a 45 minute wait, a background check, anc digital fingerprint check. As long as you are not a wanted axe murderer, an exscaped convicted, or registered child molester and you basically have a clean record, YOU ARE GOOD!!! You can apply for a business liscense for $100 for less than 1 hour. Come January, Clubs are gonna crack do on licenses and cards. Vice doesn't play!! They will shut a club down in a second especially with so many now!!

You're really asking too many questions. Vegas is NO different than any other city. It is the United States. You just need to go there as the rest of us have and see for yourself how things go. Then if you like it, continue to go back to work, and if you don't, do go back.

Some of the clubs will file for a business license for you. You will, of course, have to pay them, but if you are going to use them as an agent, they will likely let you work until you have enough $$ for the license (like your first shift, for example).

See the Vegas thread at the top of this forum for specifics of where to go to get your sheriff's card and business license.

From personal expierence, if you never plan on working in Vegas again, be sure and cancel your business license before you leave the state. It is a pain in the ass to get it canceled long distance. The state also automatically renews your license and then mails you a bill for the renewal fees. They play a game of putting off your cancelation until after the renewal date, so then you are stuck paying the fine or being sent to collections.

Yeah, they can kiss my ass. I submitted the cancelation via certified mail, so they don't have a leg to stand on. I haven't heard from them for a while and no marks on my credit, so I guess I got my point across. But it wasn't easy to do long distance.

Yeah, the business license issue is a real scam. I never renewed mine, and I bet thousands of dancers never have either. They treat the license as if you are a brick and mortar business, and keep sending collection notices if it is not renewed.

why can't she ask questions? isn't that what this forum is for? and the rest of us have not gone there, don't assume! If she doesn't ask, how's she gonna know how it is there? maybe she doesn't want to buy a plane ticket without answering these Qs. plus maybe someone else has these same questions and is just reading not posting. Lay off the girl, in BOTH threads!

I'm not trying to be mean, but many times we can overthink or overquestion things. The kinds of questions I am seeing seem to be ones of fear, and not of what ropes to follow. There have been a TON of posts on here regarding Vegas. The only way a dancer will ever know what works and what doesn't is to get her feet wet. I am merely saying Vegas is not a scary city. It is just like anywhere else.

There is nothing to worry about going to dance anywhere. There will always be an element of risk regarding earnings, and everyones experience will be different.

A dancer can't be afraid to try. The worst that can happen is her earnings will be less than expected.

My only word of caution is to be prepared for the run around where hiring is concerned. Don't expect to get hired instantly, and be patient. Stay long enough and be persitent in getting hired somewhere. And realize that there are a lot of dancers per shift and that it will involve persistence and good floor working to make money once hired.

Nude clubs will let you work without a license. There's also some smaller topless ones that will. I've been dancing for three years and JUST got my license.

Okay, trust me, nowhere would let you work without both. Unless you're talking a shitty little club out in North Las Vegas or something. Nowhere big will let you do that. For about 200 bucks, you can get both liscences. You do have to go to two different places to get them. But no, you are not going to be able to work without a business liscence AND a sherrif's card. My HOME club wouldnt let me work one night because my business liscence was expired, and I'm one of the most regular girls there.

I was sent home at a club too when I didn't have my business license. The clubs are too worried they will get busted. If you plan on working there, or anywhere for that matter that requires licensing you just go and get the licenses, or work in another town that doesn't require them.

If you've never worked in Vegas before, I would get there the beginning of the week, make sure you have transportation, get your referral slip, and spend the next day getting your licenses. The business license doesn't take much time.

Then IMMEDIATELY work on getting hired SOMEWHERE besides where you got your referral slip, and if that doesn't work out, just work at the club who gave you your referral.

Don’t forget your social security card, valid state ID, and if you’re under 21 you'll need to bring your birth certificate. Originals only…

You can't even apply for the sheriff’s card unless you have an invitation to work from a club. Spearmint Rhino will give you one if you go to the back door and ask the bouncer for a work referral...but don't assume you’re hired, you'll still need to audition and the rhino can be difficult sometimes.

What do under 21 y.o. girls from different countries do to show their birth certificate? I've always wondered that. How many license process workers can read cyrillic text, or sanskrit, or japanese, hehe? I think I asked this before a few years back. The response was SOL for those girls.......

If you're coming from out of town and you tell them you are only in town for a short period of time they WILL let you work without one. It just depends on (frankly) looks, the manager, the club... There are quite a few clubs (and decent ones) that WILL let you work, temporarily, without a license. All you need to do is call the club and ask and call a couple times if you want, answers tend to change often in Vegas, or better yet go in and ask.

Actually you need your birth certificate if you are 25 or under, not under 21. Trust me, my cousin and I moved here together and I got to work two weeks before her because she (25 at the time) thought she didn't need her birth certificate and had to get it sent from home.

You're right, it is "25 and under needs a birth certificate."

Women from other countries get a Lawyer certified translated copy of their birth certificate.
