I have no children of my own, but my best friend has 2 little girls ages 3 and 2 (another on the way). we've spoken about things liek this...moms killing their children, she is so upset by it and cries about thise things, but she also said something very pround; "the first thing that mother saw before she killed her child was the baby's smile and them reaching up to be held and loved."

... or the last thing they saw was their baby crying and screaming for the last 5 hours because of no reason anyone could fathom tearing the mother apart on the inside.

Post partum stress disorder... it's a horrible thing.

I know Post Partum Stress disorder is a real and serious condition, but I don't think it excuses a mother from this behavior. I think if a woman has any feelings that seem strange to her after giving birth she should immediately seek help and let someone know that her baby is in harm's way. I've seen people experience this and it is a very scary thing that can tell you to do very scary things - but it doesn't pick up your hands and make you drown a child, or whatever method. People need to take control and immmeedddiattelly get help!

Agreed, but I understand it as well... women don't want to admit they hate their babies, show no attachment or want to kill their child. They think they're 'wrong' and horrible and end up doing something drastic because they just snapped.

I can see how it would be terrifying to go to your doctor and say, "I want to kill my baby sometimes."

But then... *shrug*... each case needs to be judged, not in a whole.

I agree. If someone snaps that badly, they need to be put in a hospital for the rest of their lives. Who says they won't snap this badly again and do it to someone elses kid?

I've got three kids who are all now in thier teens (ok one's 12, close enough) and i'll be the first to admit I had more than one moment where I wante'd to throw 'em out a window without opening it 1st! My son was 6 months old when I got pregnant with my 1st daughter and by the time the last kid was born the older two were only 4 and 5. Stressful. I also dealt with depression issues triggered by the massive hormonal changes after having them.

    However....

I can't ever imagine putting my kid in a microwave. That shit is just evil.

Why is the murder of a child given a lesser sentence than the murder of an adult? I don't get it.

    poor baby
anybody who hurts a child in any way at all (other than the regualr discipline of a LOVING parent)should automatically be tortured and killed. NO EXCEPTIONS. I had post partum depression with Ahrie, millions of women have been through it,thats no flippin excuse to kill a baby. what a piece of freakin shit.

In the court of law, dead children have low monetary worth (see: "A Civil Action.") They also cannot speak for themselves until adulthood.

Eariler this morning I was thinking about how Brazilian police round up favela street kids & shoot them. This murder in question is disgusting but goes to show not everyone should have children, or even be allowed near them.

I volunteer to build and pay for the electricity in a full-size slow-power microwave to do that

I'm not for capital punishment (much) but in cruelty cases (animal or people) - you should be harmed the way you harmed others.

Microwaves don't hurt or cause anything but instant death... I fail to see how that would be just punishment. :/

Post partum or not (and it is NO excuse. Every hospital and many police stations have to have secret "drop rooms" where kids can be safely abandoned under 1 month old - a ": 30 day return policy:")

besides...if yr gonna kill something, do it without pain. Human or animal, it deserves that much respect.

I know this is prob going to go against popular opinion, but how would you feel as a mother being depressed and close to the edge knowing you should talk to someone but feeling like an ass mother if you have to give up your kids for awhile. I take meds anyways but I needed a higher dose and my mom watched my son until they felt I was stable enough, about a week and a half. I absolutely cannot imagine putting one of my baby's in the mic, but I also understand mental illness and not wanting to be considered unfit and loose your child so....

But I still get teary eyed when I hear fucked up shit like this and hope beyond hope that I would never ever let it get this bad that I do something fucked up like this.

I think it's kinda ironic that I've been in my hospital's mental ward about five years ago long before my baby's came by and I still realized I was the sanest person in that joint It kinda puts things in perspective and makes you realize don't be so selfish you ass. I still think anybody that actually commits this kind of act should be put away for a long time if not executed.

This is why total assholes should not have babies. Put your pride aside and get help, if not for yourself, for your child.

I do feel sorry for that poor baby. But Xiomara, some women are not like you! Some women truely suffer very bad from postpartum depression. It dose not mean they should be kill! It means they was not in their right mind! A person can be a perfect role model. But than later have a baby and suffer very bad from postpartum depression. My ex husband was friends with this guy at work. His wife was pregnant and she had no sign of depression. She was find! After she had the baby, she went crazy( at least that is what he said)! He was about to divorse her, I ask him why than he start telling me what was happening and I had to sit down and explain to him his wife was suffering from servere postpartum depression. I told him he need to get her help right away before she kills the baby. Or do something really bad! I told him to talk to her doctor. Well he did as I told him. They got her on some med right away! she is fine now!

A lot of people do not have knowelge of this sort of depression. So therefore a lot of people do not understand it! Like the man I was talking about earlier. He was about to divorse is wife. Because he thought she change. When she was suffering from postpartum depression. If people are more aware of the signs, especially the men some of these women are married too! Than maybe fewer iccdents like this will happen! These woman really do loose thier minds during this time. Some loose thier minds off and on! Some loose thier mind fully! Post partum depression should not be overlook! If we pay attention to the sign of postpartum depression. We can prevent a lot of these crimes.

Pooka not all the time women who suffer from post partum depression. Realize that, hey something is wrong with me. some women who suffer from this have really lost thier mind. That is why people, and women who had babies should know the signs of postpartum depression. It should never be under looked! But alot people just feel like oh she is just being a bitch, or we are just going thrusome promblems right now! Postpartum can become really bad.

I feel like men who are married. Or decided to father these babies. Or other family member should be very knowelgeable of postpartum depression. So when they see the signs. They can get the woman help. Not to mention save the baby life.

IF not treated postpartum depression can turn into another mental disorder. Yep a woman who suffer from postpartum depression. might harm another infant, or kidnap another infant and think it is her baby. THis is why people should know the signs if post partum depression. Postpartum depression dose discriminate among women. Any woman can be at risk to have Post partum depression.
