So, one of my friends/ regular asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and I told him I wanted a purse. He asked what kind, and I said coach and described what types of styles I like. Well, we made plans to meet at the mall that weekend and I would pick out a purse.
Well, he calls me and tells me he found a great deal through a guy he works with. Some woman was se4lling some coach purses that she bought on impulse and wanted to get rid of. Yeah, sounded fishy to me too. I asked him if they were real, because I DID NOT WANT TO TAKE PART IN ANYTHING THAT IS BASED OFF OF CHILD LABOR, AND SWEATSHOPS. He said his friend knew the lady really well, and "fred" said they were real.
Well, I just met up with him and got the purses ( he bought me two), and didn't want to be rude and look at them right then and there.
So, I get home, and I take a look. One is a style I've never seen before, both feel like plastic on the inside. I hear that all o fthe metal things on the real deal have the name on it, but only the buckles have the name, not the zippers or anything else. Even the canvas? feels cheap.
I'm not mad at my reg, he is a sweet old man that just wanted to get me something nice. He's not rich, not poor, but somewhere in the middle, so he spent his hard earned dollars on these two fakes.
I'm
1. Pissed that I was so excited about getting a coach purse, and now I have two fakes on my hands
2. Pissed that someone would take advantage of such a trusting and generous person ( he's been paying my bills for a bit while I go to college full time, instead of working, because my classes this semester are rediculously hard).
3. Don't know what to tell him or even if I should because his little world where everyone is good and you can trust their word, will be shattered. He even that that I have never done drugs, don't use foul language, hardly drink, and am still virginal and only sleep with guys that I love. The few times I've let a bad word slip, or one time when he caught me smoking a ciggarette, you all should have seen the shock on his face. Poor old guy.
You guys are probably thinking I must be naive tothink he is sooo innocent, becaus eI met him in a sc. Here's how we met....
When I met him it was at one of his sons b-days at the club. His two sons wanted to buy him some dances, and he kept saying " I just don't know if I feel right, no offense girl." So they gave me the money, told me to dance, and he told me to take the money and just talk to him. After that he would come in every weekend to just talk, and give me $300 for talking with him for an hour. When I'd get bored and tell him I didn't feel like I was doing my job he'd start buying me dances from the other girls, so all of my friends would bank off of him every time.
He had his very first shot o fliquor on my twentyfirst b-day ever. He bought me one, but made me wait untill midnight when I was really 21 to have it. He says he's never ever done any drugs or smoked even a ciggerette. He's never in like 50 yrs of marrige cheated on his wife. He always comes in and talks to me about how much he loves his grandkids, and how he hopes they grow up to be like me- except for the dancer part. He is that innocent. He even says he prays for me to do good when he is going to bed every night.
I'm just so pissed that somebody would take advantage of this guy who helps everybody. And he really does. Everybody.
What do I tell him, he's gonna be crushed that he was taken advantage of?
