Default Not chunky, but not spike?

I'm in the minority as well, seeing that I like chunkies. But hey, props to all of us who can prance gracefully in either type of shoes that are 4+ inches! I'd love to see people having "real" jobs do this. Just think of the snobs at secretary of state ...LOL....

Ok to my quick question, would you all consider these "spikes?" If not what? And those of you that have tried them, do you think they are easier/harder/same as the chunkies or spikes?? Curious....

they're cone heels. i had a pair, and they fell apart really quickly. the heel didn't make too much of a difference to me, i dance the same on chunky, spike or cone.

Which part fell apart first...the problem I've had with mine so far is the black crap on the bottom starting to peel off....annoying....

I'm a little intimidated to take them into a shoe repair store..

I had cone heels after I had my first pair of spikes. I guess they feel a little sturdier from a newbie pov. If I had to rate shoes 1st pick: spikes, 2nd: cones, 3rd: chunk. I still think spikes make the legs look longer and better. I mean if you find them more comfortable and easier to dance in then by all means get those instead. You can always buy more pairs of shoes later

Cones flare too much at the ends to be spikes. These are real spikes:

VERY thin.... but anymore these are considered spike too:

I love cone heels, just the look of them. But I just had to comment that the model's heel is all scaly and dry and cracked, ewww.

I had a pair of cones and the heel broke off as I was about to run down the stairs at a previous club. NOT good. Those cone heels are attached to the rest of the shoe base, so not nearly as sturdy as the ones where the entire base is one piece. You want your stripper shoes to be all one piece at the base (platform and heel).

As far as the black stuff at the bottom peeling off. That's the sole. Just superglue it back down. I've had tons of stripper shoes and they ALL seem to do that - all brands. I'm sure it's got something to do with the way I dance, because I wear out the front part of my soles much faster than anything else. Anyway, I keep some superglue in my dance bag for stuff like that. If the sole starts peeling up at the toe (it always does for me), I just superglue it, stand on it a few seconds, then I'm back out on the floor. Usually after I superglue it once, it doesn't peel up anymore.

I just love the word "cone" lol. Thx for the info.
I'd grab my trumpet and I'd do a stripper sound, like the old Louis Armstrong, real raspy. And the people would go nuts! Then I knew that the sexual, sensual, guttural sound, that throbbing sound, is where it's at.

I think the spikes are most flattering, so that's what I go for. Cones or chunky may be more comfy, but I'ld rather look my best and adjust. It just takes some getting used to!

I don't like them either. It's strange how the heel doesn't match the shoe. But they are still better than these. They look like anal beads.

ROFL! You gave me a 'hole' new perspective on those shoes!!!!

I hate cone shoes. I would recomend them to a new girl. I've bee told that they are better to walk in when you don't know what the hell you doing. I've never understood that, girls that didn't know how to walk in heels. I remember trick or treating in the third grade in stiletto heels like the white ones above.
But if you like cones rock them

Where did the word stiletto come from anyway?

Yeah, I can't wear anything but spikes. I really hate chunky heel, I think they look terrible in most cases, but I did have a pair of cone heels when I first started. They make good practice shoes for newbies, but I wouldn't dream of wearing them now.

Hahahahaha A girl at my club wears a clear pair of these, and that was my first thought on that!!!!
With all the stupid things guys will say, stay cool.

"Her apartment is littered with soggy G-strings and cheap 8-inch heeled shoes, along with empty tubes of body glitter, mascara, prescription drugs, zit cream, Aqua Net and Polaroid pictures of her and her "friends" engaged in some drinking and dancing on St. Patrick's Day last year. What about these heels? Still too chunky to be sexy? Im pretty good in my stilettos, but since Im looking for a taller shoe I thought maybe I could go semi-chunky? Where the hell do you find boots that have those stilettos that are just a bit thicker than regular spikes? Are these them? I cant really tell from the pic, but it looks like the heel would be wide from the back and skinny from the side?

Ive danced over a decade and still wear my chunky heels, I can't glide or do the turns I do without them.

I can't stand cone heels though, but im super picky ( which is why Im still in chunky ) ..I can't have any tread on the show. it has to be slick for me to dance in...only chunky heels seem to have this.

i would imagine it's referencing an old world dagger that had a thin blade and came to a very long, sharp point. made for stabbing instead of slashing!
