    Default Yay! I won!

Well, i won the amateur contest last night (they actually ended it in a tie, but most of the guys said, "what!?!" when they announced that cause I had clearly won ... but I was excited and having fun, so I agreed to split the prize money), and both my friend and I got offered jobs.

My legs hurt really bad last night -- especially my right leg since I tend to favor it ever since I broke my left ankle -- but this morning everything feels fine.

The club is topless w/ pasties (county law), and at first I really wanted to work someone that is full nude since I hear they make more money. But the girls here were super nice and not catty at all, plus the club is really laid back (no drink hustle, in fact, low hustle all the time -- the girls dont even ask for lap dances, they say the customers ask them and that makes them plenty of money). I'm not sure what the house fee is yet, and I'm a little nervous since there is no cover and no hustle -- I mean, the club has to make money somehow, right?

The thing is that the lap dances are no contact, and to be honest, I'm not really sure what you'd do (i'm used to lap dances where basiclaly the girl just grinds on the guy).

I also didn't love my name so much (Fiora) -- after he announced it like 10 times, I wasn't thrilled with it. Do you think it is a problem to change it? The girls and the guys there all liked it, they remembered it and they could say it back even when drunk -- and I'm wondering if, since I won the contest, they've already started to think of me as it and it would be bad to change it now?

i dont think they will have a problem with changing your name.
well done on winning the contest.
im not surprised that u r sore, ive been dancing for just over a month now and i still pull up very sore afterwards.
seriously the no-contact rule is a good thing but if you are just topless and wearing pasties i cant imagine what u would do during a private dance. my club is full nude and no contact so guys pay to see us naked. but if thats working for the girls there then just watch what they do and copy.

Hmmm, I'm a little nervous now b/c the owner said his scheduling person would call "tomorrow" to work everything out, and she didn't call yesterday. I keep thinking I put my phone number down wrong (I just moved, so when I'm not paying attention, I write down half of my old number and half of my new sometimes).

Someone please tell me it's normal for them to say they will call the next day and not so I can stop freaking out.

call them, but be polite and low key about it.

Say "Hello, I won the amature contest last week, and was hired to be a dancer. I just moved, and I'm afraid I might have put my old phone number down since I was so excited. Can I speak to the manager in charge of scheduling to make sure the number is correct?"

Best of luck, and even if most of the dancers in a club don't hustle, you still should. Don't pressure or act like it's vegas or anything, but your job is to sell. It's much better to sit a song or so then ask them, rather then sit 2 songs waiting for them to ask.

Okay, so I got over my nerves and called them today. The scheduling woman was really friendly, but she said that the owner has to specifically tell her to hire people, and he hasn't said anything to her about anyone from the contest yet. The fact that I knew his name I think was helpful cause she knew I wasn't bullsh*ting. So she is gonna check in with him and then call back.

I'm a little bummed (although, he owns 2 other clubs, so I'm sure he is busy), but glad I called and got the ball rolling.

I am going to do another area amateur night this week just cause I really need the money and technically I don't have a job yet so I'm still an amateur. Do you think that will be okay? What should I do if this second club offers me a job? I think I'd rather work at the first club since it is a 45 minute closer drive and less hustling (no drink hustle, etc. .. the girls there who had worked at both said it was a better starter club for newbies, and I definitely got that vibe). But I really need the money ... so if the second club were to say come in next week and start working, should I go for it, or hold off for the first club?
