Default Views on Plastic Surgery Survey

So I’m curious, I want to run a little anonymous survey. I am hopping to post the results in a blog soon just so people on the “other side” of the industry can get a somewhat unique look into why some people go after plastic surgery. It is totally anonymous so you can be as honest as you wish.

You don't need to list your name but if you can please just post your:
    city or state,
age when you first had surgery
    your age now
    and race (this is optional)

If you have had cosmetic surgery:

    1. What procedures have you had done?
    2. Why did you have it done?
    3. Was it specifically for work or was it more of a self esteem issue?
    4. Do you regret any surgeries you have had?
    5. How has it effected your work life and out of work life?
    6. Do you find most people accepting of it or disapproving?
    7. What was the most negative reaction you had from someone?
    8. What was the most positive reaction you had from someone?
    9. Are you planning on getting more or happy with what you have now?
    10. After all is said and done, knowing how it has changed your life for good or bad, would you do it again or not and why?

If you have not had any cosmetic surgery then:

    1. Why not?
    2. Have you thought about it or happy with whom you are?
    3. If money was no object what would be the first procedure you would get?
    4. Do you agree with people’s reasons for getting plastic surgery?

Feel free to add any other comments or anything that you feel would help explain your views.
I’ll let this run for a couple days then ill gather the results and post when and where you can see the blog.

Thanks so much!!! Now have fun!

You might find this link useful:
    http://www.cosmeticplasticsurgerysta...tatistics.html

    city or state,
    Eugene, Oregon
age when you first had surgery
    34
    your age now
    37
    and race (this is optional)
    Anglo/European

If you have had cosmetic surgery:

    1. What procedures have you had done?
    Breast Implants
    2. Why did you have it done?
    Wanted to look better
    3. Was it specifically for work or was it more of a self esteem issue?
Neither. I wanted it, I could afford it, so I got it. Self esteem has nothing to do with how a person looks.
    4. Do you regret any surgeries you have had?
    No
    5. How has it effected your work life and out of work life?
    I buy bigger bras.
    6. Do you find most people accepting of it or disapproving?
    Accepting
    7. What was the most negative reaction you had from someone?
My mother in law just rolled her eyes at me when she overheard a conversation I was having with someone else about my PS. But she thinks orthodonics are a vanity, too.
    8. What was the most positive reaction you had from someone?
    $$$
    9. Are you planning on getting more or happy with what you have now?
    Definately getting more
    10. After all is said and done, knowing how it has changed your life for good or bad, would you do it again or not and why?
Certainly I'd do it again. There is nothing wrong with altering your looks to suit yourself, whether it is to change your hair style/color, wearing flattering clothes, putting on makeup, getting braces to make your smile nice, getting tattoos or piercings, getting a tan, body building, plastic surgery, or any other way people express themselves through body modification or cosmetic means. It is simply the expression of the inner self in a visable way. We all dress differently and express ourselves through our adornments. Plastic surgery is just a modern way of that form of expression.

city or state: Philadelphia, PA (given)
age when you first had surgery: 22yrs old
your age now: 24 yrs old
    and race: Caucasian

If you have had cosmetic surgery:

    1. What procedures have you had done?
    breast augmentation

    2. Why did you have it done?
I'd always wanted them b/c I felt that I was disproportionate and had the body of a 12-yr-old.

    3. Was it specifically for work or was it more of a self esteem issue?
It was more of a self-esteem issue than for work, although I was also looking forward to the extra money to be made at work resulting from the surgery. But more than self-esteem, I wanted it because I wanted to make myself look in a way that matched my definition of attractive.

    4. Do you regret any surgeries you have had?
Nope! I love my boobs and flaunt them frequently with the revealing tops that I wear!

    5. How has it effected your work life and out of work life?
Work Life--It has increased my money and gotten me compliments on my boobs from customers(I never got that before).
Out-of-work Life--It has definitely helped me to obtain guys that I wasn't able to obtain before. I get more positive attention from guys(although I got some positive attention before, too). Guys that hadn't gone for me in the past started to show interest and make moves on me, which I found kinda ironic and hypocritical but also amusing. For example, when certain guys rejected me in the past, I used to whine and complain to my close friends about how they'd rejected me because I didn't have boobs or a decent job(I was working min wage shit jobs at that time)...and sure enough, all it took was the boob job and the dancing+insurance jobs for guys to change their mind about me!

    6. Do you find most people accepting of it or disapproving?
Most people approve it! Even friends or customers who advised me NOT to get my boobs done, complimented me afterwards...for example, a few of my guy friends claimed that they liked smaller boobs yet they seem to like my new bigger boobs better than the old ones. One friend stares a lot to this day and has even tried to damn near grope them!(WTF?) LOL. There are always a few people who will disapprove, but I don't know if it is because they are jealous, or consider a BA shallow, or whatever...but you can never please everyone.

    7. What was the most negative reaction you had from someone?
On rare occasions, a few guys told me that I shouldn't have gotten them done. There was a big group of young Irish guys that would frequent my old club, and one of them was this belligerent asshole who always seemed to insult me every time he visited. Of course he told me that I shouldn't have gotten them done, but I disregarded his words because it was obvious that he was just trying to find some other way to insult me(I guess that doesn't count?). Some guys said that I probably looked great before I got the surgery...but then again, they never saw how bad my boobs looked before the surgery! LOL. Easier said than done, I guess. Overall, I don't think I've had any truly negative reactions that I would validate as being more than hogwash.

    8. What was the most positive reaction you had from someone?
I can't really pinpoint a specific incident that was THE most positive. LOL I already wrote about my one guy friend, whose eyes would jump outta his head every time he saw me and my boobs...even though it's been over a year now LOL. I think he mostly does that just joking around with me(we've known each other for years).

Another time, I was at a new club and I ran into my old regular from my former club. I hadn't seen him since before the BA(he stopped going to my old club over the summer, and then I switched clubs). I showed him what I had done, his eyes jumped outta his head, and he grabbed my hand and said "OK we're going back to the couch room RIGHT NOW!!!!!" LOL.

A few weeks ago, I was at a bar and a girl came up to me to compliment my boobs and ask who my doctor was. She told me that she wanted to get her's done, too. Turns out, she was dating a guy I'd gone to high school with long ago so we all conversed and it was really cool.

    9. Are you planning on getting more or happy with what you have now?
Right now I am happy, but I realize that I will need to get them redone someday soon(have to get saline implants replaced every 5-10yrs). When I get them redone, I will probably go a little bigger because...why not? I do not know how they will turn out after I have kids someday...but I will probably go bigger after I have kids, because I might have extra sag or skin by then.

    10. After all is said and done, knowing how it has changed your life for good or bad, would you do it again or not and why?
Hells yeah!! It was one of the best decisions I made for myself!

this is the stupidest thing ever....(well, not ever)

you are asking why people who make money on their looks/body would consider plastic surgery? How is this helpful to people outside our industry?

are you on the farming forum asking them why they bought tractors?

LOL! That made me crack up laughing!

I don't know though...at least for me, I didn't get them for the primary purpose of work. I got them because I'd always wanted them and well, the money I made through dancing actually made affording them closer to a reality for me. But that's just me.

yeah, most women who get implants/cosmetic surgery are not dancers, so obviously it's not all about making money. Vanity plays a role for sure. But it's still a pointless survey. Why would a non-stripper care why strippers get stuff done?

    Name: CorsicaFire
    city or state: Arizona
age when you first had surgery : NA
    your age now: 21
and race (this is optional): White

If you have not had any cosmetic surgery then:

    1. Why not?

No money, and I've heard about many so called "plastic surgeons" going around doing surgeries who aren't even really licensed.

    2. Have you thought about it or happy with whom you are?

Thought about it, and while I am happy with who I am and wouldn't die without it, I eventually want a rhinoplasty because my nose is crooked and I'll be getting a septoplasty for medical reasons anyways.

    3. If money was no object what would be the first procedure you would get?

    Septoplasty and rhinoplasty

    4. Do you agree with people’s reasons for getting plastic surgery?

    Sure.

city or state -- Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia

age when you first had surgery -- n/a as I havn't had surgery
    your age now -- 28
and race (this is optional) -- Australian

If you have not had any cosmetic surgery then:

    1. Why not?

There are better things I would rather put $10K towards or even $5k than bigger boobs. Plus it is just too risky. Plus I am trying to stay the hell away from hospitals and this includes any type of surgery. Surgery of any kind carries risk. I'm not ballsy enough to forgo that risk for bigger boobs (as that is the only plastic surgery I would look at nothing else).

    2. Have you thought about it or happy with whom you are?

I won't lie. I have thought about it. I came close one time to nearly going ahead and saving up for it ... then a good friend (hello Jow!) brought me back to earth. I thank her for the "talk" (it was an email).

    3. If money was no object what would be the first procedure you would get?

Breast Augmentation. I'm a 32A and I would go up to a large C if possible. As I have said previously tho', it isn't about the cost it is about the inherant risks. Plus I feel having bigger breasts only will serve me for the limited time I am working within adult entertainment. After I leave/exit, there would be no real use for them, imo.

    4. Do you agree with people’s reasons for getting plastic surgery?
Yes as it is their body and their life. The only time I disagree is when the person has not done enough research into the whole deal from doctors to all the inherant risks associated with the procedure they are wanting.

“Troll: is a person who enters an established community such as an online discussion forum and intentionally tries to cause disruption, most often in the form of posting inflammatory, off-topic, insulting, or otherwise inappropriate messages.”

Sorry but I am not a troll and obviously people felt that it was an interesting enough topic to post and answer the questions. To those who did, thank you.

To those who post negative comments, although I respect your opinion and right to have it, there is no need for calling names or making ignorant statements as to why or why not I decided to post this survey. Not everyone has the same views as you do. I explained clearly my intentions of the survey. I don’t go around calling you or your posts names I'd appreciate some mutual respect please.

If you must know more, I work in the Cosmetic Surgery field and the majority of our clients are not dancers, so I know the reasons those women get them. Also, a handful of my close friends are dancers so I come from both sides of the coin here.
But the common public only has the impression that dancers are majority getting surgery, which isn’t true. So in order to have a fair and just survey I decided to post on here as well as ask the ones I personally know.

I hope to get a few more positive responses to this survey, and again thank you to the ones who have answered so far.
