Is this true? Boyfriend said he heard it from Dr. Dean Adell.

*blink*
Um. Honestly i'd say decreases. You know, cause you swallowed it.

In all seriousness the only thing I could think of is sperm has a good amount of zinc in it and zinc deficiency can make getting pregnant more difficult.

^ Bwahahahahaaha.
I was going to say the exact same thing.
LOL
Okay, but swallowing, and also having unprotected intercourse to completion...so, anyone know??

Hey hun,
here are a few links, hope they are helpful. Happy swallowing!

OMG! You're actually serious?! I thought this myth was only a high school one and once you actually got out in the real world you actually realise that the only way to get pregnant is for the sperm to enter the only way it can: in the vagina.
How can something that enters thru your mouth get to your utuerous (sp?) .... it's basic knowledge of the human body there.![]()

Unprotected sex to completion with no birth control definately will equal pregnancy. Even if you are on birth control it is not 100% safe so there is ALWAYS that chance.
The best ways to not get pregnant: to not have sex, to only let the guy "complete" in your anus or outside the vagina, only let the guy "complete" in the vagina with a condom on (however you still run the risk of the condom not working/breaking/etc), to only have sex with guys who have had "the snip" and/or to have your "tubes tied".

I don't think anyone has addressed the OP's question. I believe she asked if it can increase the likelihood of pregnancy, not get you pregnant on its own.
As far as that goes, possibly true. My human sexuality textbook said that ingestion of semen may allow the woman's body to gradually adjust to foreign DNA and will make it accept it more readily during vaginal intercourse.
And it's protein!
Everyone knows it's easier to get knocked up when you are healthy and get lots of nutrients!
Lol, it reminds me of a cartoon I saw once of two sperm. One says to the other "How long until we reach the overies" and the other says "Ages mate, weve only just gone past the tonsils!"
But anyway, I dont think thats what she meant...I have heard all sorts of theories about the health benefits of sperm and the effect on the body. I dont know how relevant they are though. Sperm is high in zinc - thats sort of relevant if you want to conceive and are also haveing regular sex as well as swallowing I supose...

Sorry, just trying to help you answer a pretty vague question

Or... maybe it's a statistics thing? You know, like women who swallow more have more sex/unprotected sex?
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
Speaking of birth control, my boyfriend and I use the "withdrawel" method, which is appx. 80% effective. Or he pulls out midway through sex and puts on a rubber till completion. I suck him and swallow as well but don't think swallowing puts me at higher risk for pregnancy.
Ok...pre-ejaculate will still get you preggers. Going at it for a little while and then putting on a condom or pulling out will still get you pregnant. If you don't want to be preggers, use a condom from start to finish.
As for the other thing...I'm very fertile...and I don't like to swallow...
These things are hard to determine because you would have to know how fertile someone is before doing this study and then studying them and seeing if the swallowing is increasing their chances of getting preggers. Personally, I don't think so...but, ya know?
