    Default Question about dying hair

I dyed my hair a lighter blonde last feb. then decided to touch it up again exactly one month later, I actually put the dye on all my hair not just the roots (BAD idea). So after that it ended up breaking off at certain parts and I haven't since dyed it again.

It's been almost a year since then, do you think it is safe to dye again now?

Damaged hair is damaged hair. It doesn't really heal with time, regardless of what shampoo commercials will say. I'd think it would be safe for you to dye, but not to bleach - meaning that you can go darker, which would just coat the hair with a (hopefully conditioning) dye formula. Bleach would just damage it further.

^Is there a way to lighten dirty blonde w/out bleaching? I think I'd look weird with dark hair, lol

Do ALL blonde hair dyes have bleach, like that one for example?

Yes, but only if it's virgin hair. You can use a high lift permanent color on your outgrowth, but using it on previously colored hair will yeild unpredictable results and possibly more damage. High lift colors may not contain bleach but they do contain double the amount of high percentage peroxide in order to achieve the rapid lightening results. IMO, they're just as damaging to the hair as decolorizers especially if they're used improperly.

Regardless of how long you're hair has not been colored, unless all the previously colored hair has been cut off, you're looking at more breakage if you're not careful. Unless you take Yeks advice and only use demi or semi permanent color on your hair, or get a serious hair cut, you need to see a pro.
