You're still here, Woman?? Tell that kid to come out! I can't stand the mystery anymore! I need to know if it has an innie or an outie!
Heh..
How ya feeling though? Any contractions? Share with the class!

If JOE would stop pushing the kid back in... If I where that kid the first thing I'd do is walk over to joe, and punch him in the forhead a couple hundred times then ask him how HE likes it.
Oh, and VG, you're so adorable preggers....for christmas....mail me burned copies of Joe's house mixes? For money?
Good luck tho..seriously.

Ugh...I'm not getting any sleep...
I've been getting contractions (or as Makayla says, "Contraptions")...but what I'm really feeling is that "getting my period" discomfort that just doesn't go away. I go to the doctor this afternoon...last time I went I was effacing and starting to dilate...we'll see how its been going since last week.
Although, I did feel his head (I think its a boy...Joe still insists its a girl...I hope I'm right, LOL) drop more. Now, THAT was a weird feeling. Doc says that it may be a very quick birth with how low his head is already...so to be on my toes when I start to go into labor because it could happen really quickly.
Aside from that, I'm waddling like a duck...but I feel really good.
Boy this is exciting. VG, any chance you can get Joe to go to Best Buy today and purchase a Webcam for the delivery room?
Its a home delivery...besides, the last time I delivered...it was in the hospital and they wouldn't allow us to tape the delivery or take pictures. Assholes. So, the only pics we have are of Makayla AFTER she was born.
Hooray for home births, Venus! Oh, I hope everything goes beautifully for you.
Did you get a nice tub to float around in? A homebirthing friend of mine got one and she said it made a huge difference for the majority of the time (she chose to get out of the water for the actual pushing phase - she could have stayed in, but it just felt right to her to get out; going with the flow). Although - if the babe's going to come down the chute as fast as they think, you might not even have time . . .

I love that you're doing a homebirth! I thought about it with my last 2, but went to a waterbirth center instead...honestly, it's cause my house is just too chaotic! lol They had their rooms all purdy..
however a home delivery would have been much easier as my last 2 were fairly quick births..once they got going anyways!
are you going to "catch" her/him?? THAT is the coolest thing EVER! I was the first person to ever to lay their hands on my second and third!

Our second kid was delivered by a midwife, in a hospital. The whole experience was soooo much better than the first. Of course, we (the parents) were more familiar with the whole birthing thing, too.
I can't wait for the homebirth. I'm really excited. Rose, I have a 2 person whirlpool bathtub already in my bathroom...so I don't need a birthing tub.Yippee!!
Sassy...I don't know if I will or not...I guess I will have to see how it all works out. The thing I like about this doc is that he's very hands off and is willing to work with the mom (he believes strongly in mother's intuition) and is open to making the birth a positive experience for the family...and not just a quick birth so he can move on to the next one.
The funny thing, though, is that I asked him if the baby was born before he got to my house, what kind of discount I would get...if he's ever had to break his fees down to account for catching the baby or just making sure that all's ok (if he doesn't make it to catch the baby). heehee Apparently, there's no discount. LOL

I think it would be a big relief to have the baby at home where you know about everything that is clean and is not. Whos coming in to do what and so on. Well Im hoping its a boy so you can have the matching set. What names have you picked out for a boy or a girl?

Oh...very cool on the home birth. I hope everything goes well for you!![]()
Can I just take a moment and say I am thrilled that it was a completely healthy pregnancy?
I mean I don't want to be a buzzkill
but you don't know HOW much I wanted whatever was listening to ensure this for you two.

I second that, Mast.
You did it, VG! Now it's just the delivery you have to do. But, you've made it! I couldn't be happier for you, Scorpio, and Makayla!

Yeah, thanks you guys...the best part of a pregnancy is when nothing really happens. LOL
Went to see the doc today...and he said..."Yeeeah, you're progessing beautifully...but I don't see you having this baby on the 8th...I'm thinking another 5 or 6 days."
And, you know, this is totally ok with me because if he's not ready to be born, he's not ready to be born...but I did tell him that he'd better not pull the same stunt his sister did and wait an extra 3 weeks, because if he wanted to be a New Year's baby then he should have waited a little longer to be conceived.
So, baby watch has been extended by a few more days...

Oh this is so exciting, Venus!!! Good luck.
I can't wait to see him/her. For some reason I have the feeling you're having a boy too, I don't know why but throughout your whole pregnancy I've always thought of the baby as a boy whenever I'm reading your post...strange...Anyways, Keep us updated!

I think Makayla is just a little young to know about contraptions.![]()
"He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"
