    Default Modeling Question

Ok this might sound like a really stupid question but i just started modeling and have only done TFP so far. I have my first paid shoot next week. Is it concidered rude for me to ask for a CD of the images for promotional/portfolio use since i am being paid?

I have recieved CD's with paid shoots. It never hurts to ask..just expect that the photog will ask in return that you 1)not sell them without his permission and 2) give him photo credit if you are going to post them anywhere(like Myspace or OMP)
People always ask me, did I ever learn anything when I was a stripper? Yeah, I did. One man plus two beers equals 20 dollars.

photographers are notoriously slack at 'getting around to' giving you the shots you want. you honestly don't need a whole CD of all these shots (and most photographers don't want every shot of theirs aired to the world for obvious reasons; blinking, lighting whatever).

you may only have 3 'winners' from the shoot, so all you need are those shots retouched for your 'book'. absolutely ask for copies of the winners, but be prepared to email and phone the photographer chasing them up.

don't bother with pics that aren't retouched, or aren't "wow" shots

If your release allows for it, you should get it.

If it doesn't, no harm in asking for it. Lots of people will do it. I would be sure to mention that you'll always give the photographer credit every time you publish the picture.

But generally, if the photographer is paying you fully for your time, it's up to the photographer. Sending prints or a CD would be extra compensation to you, in a way.

Usually you won't recive pics in paid shoots just a few token images from the shoot so i have found. Just ask if you could have some of the photos, i very much doubt they will give you all of them.

I have also found that some photographers will charge you a fee for the task of having them burn some of the images onto a CD for you to use on your portfolio(s). Usually the photographer him/herself will digitally watermark the images.
