    Default Chronic Yeast Infections

Is there any teas, herbs, or vitamins that help cure yeast infections? I've been checked out and that's just the nature of the beast for me. However, my body has been on so many antibiotics that I can't handle any more. I need natural cures. Help! I've been living on Uristat, and it's not burning when I pee, just feeling like I have to go all the time and itchy. Hell for all I know, it could be BV, but I cant tell if it's a UTI,BV or a YI.

I have an appointment on Friday with PP, but Im afraid Ill be given more antibiotics. So maybe I should also ask what's the best way to take care of the side effects of multiple doses of antibiotics? I feel so weary...

The only sure way to get rid of chronic yeast infections is to do The Anti-Candida Diet for 3-4 months to starve Candida out of your system. I managed to do 2 months, but I have slipped up these last two weeks a fair bit )-: 2 months has done me good though and I shall get back to it. A Dr might prescribe Nystatin or Diflucan or something, but these wont nessesarilly work. curezone.com has a Candida forum
For the diet you have to cut out all yeast, all sugar (and artificial sweeterners!) pretty much all processed food, cheese, white flour products, white rice, and some fruits - you will be able to find the full list somewhere online if you wanted to take the plunge (-:

Hmm, I had some strange computer problem then - I mean to add re curezone that for anti-fungals check there, but it wouldnt let me. Garlic is good of course and eating lots of plain yogart. Peppermint and lavender oils a drop at a time in water, umm theres more but I forget.

If you have a UTI it would burn or sting when you pee, and your urine would be cloudy (usually). It is sometimes hard to tell the difference between Yeast and BV. Doctor! Tell your doctor what you are on so that she can perscribe appropriately. But if you don't know what you've got, it's diffiuclt to say what's worked for others.

In my experience, and oh have I had a lot lately- BV discharge is not clumpy. It is thin w/ an odor. It doesn't itch, just hella gross.

My doc recommended acidophilus as a prevantative, and I think several other girls on previous threads about this subject have too.

Get thee to the doctor to see what's up, then follow up with prevention measures to keep the YI BV and UTI at bay.

Antibiotics cause yeast infections and can fight off BV. So curing one can cause the other. Yeast infections burn and don't smell.

I was going to suggest curezone.com but aussie beat me to it. Yea get your butt on to that site.. it is a wealth of info.

Def try the Anti-candida diet and maybe followed by the master flush. You should also be taking acidophilus if you are on that much antibiotics

how do u know the difference between yeast infection and BV?

i used to suffer constantly from a discharge - slightly smelly but not overly strong smell.

but recently i have stopped having so many baths (i love my baths) and i have totally stopped washing my hair in the bath and it seems to have reduced the amount of discharge that i have. my doctor told me that having baths with anything in it that can change the PH level of the vagina and distrupt the good bacteria in the vagina - such as shampoo, soaps, bath oils and lotions etc should be avoided.
it seems to be working with me. but i am still not sure whether it was yeast or BV

It could be a mild BV maybe? I could never tell when it was merely mild. The last time I went through this my doc said that there was almost no healthy stuff in the kitty. Just the BV dominating everything. You will know it because it smells rank. And there is a lot of discharge.

And Corsica, the burning and needing to pee constantly certainly smacks of a UTI.

Sounds like the triple threat. The only thing worse would be to start your period while going through all that...

Ugh, I already had my period last week.

I don't think it's UTI, it doesn't burn when I pee, just when it's in my bladder like I've been holding it in for hours.

Hugs. And you don't have to if it makes you feel weird, but would you follow up? I'm kind of interested now in what they say. Kitty drama interests me since I have so much of it myself.

    Ok Ava....

Went today. They did swab tests for Yeast, Chlamydia, and Gonarrhea and urine test for UTIs.

Yeast Infection was present, no STDs and the urine is being sent off to the lab to check for a UTI. She doesn't think I have it, but just to be sure, she's calling me next week with the urine test results.

    Prescribed me Terazol and probiotics.

I didnt read the whole thread but if you have a YI your husband needs to be treated for it to go away too. Its not just you hun he should get checked out eventhough he may not have symptoms. You could just be passing it back and forth to each other. FRT, anti biotics dont cause yeast infections. However, being on medication *such as birth control* interacts with them in a negative way resulting in a YI.

Pretty much any antibiotic I've taken puts me at risk for a YI. It seems that the longer I am on antibiotics the more prone I am to getting one. I usually just ask for Terazol if I'm getting a script for antibiotics to stay on the safe side and avoid being charged 2x for a visit.

I know, antibiotics are the DEVIL for me I just got my script, so I shall start tonight. Got the generic because it was cheaper and I have no health insurance. It's called Terconazol and it's cream. 14 days of this crap! Isn't it enough I haven't had sex in a month because of this YI?
