Default Burst Ovarian Cyst...Not For Squeamish People

A few days ago after being miserably sick...blood & "matter" made out of old blood started draining out of my vaginal canal...It looked like SCIENCE FICTION, I tell you.
I was dizzy & disoriented for a few days, and still feel weak & tired. The theory is that the cyst burst & is draining into my fallopian tube & not my abdomen, thank God. I'll go to the doctor if I start feeling really bad, but I was just wondering if anyone had some at-home recovery tips & good alternatives to antibiotics....Thanks.

Well how do you know it was a cyst that burst? I think you shoudl go to the doc anyway? I have endometriosis, but no cysts or fibroids. I hope you feel better.

Ack, honey, that sounds terrible! Jeebus.

I don't know anything about it..I'll go through my crazy herb lady books tonight, but in terms of alternatives to antibiotics, I wouldn't feel even close to safe suggesting any.

SOME people use garlic...the pills, not actual garlic, as that'll make you bloat, and you're torso is in enough trouble right now. Lots of them (garlic pills). Especially if you're not taking antibiotics. Wild Oregano oil would be another one to consider. Again, caplets...you can take the oil straight on your tongue, but it tastes like satan's semen gone rotten, so I don't recommend.

Finally, comfrey root tea is a good all-round healer.

    Hugs, feel better.

Oh my G-d, you poor thing. Go to the damn doctor with that! I'm the first one to avoid antibiotics whenever possible, but if you have a ruptured infection inside your body, then you need it treated!

Take care of yourself hunny, and you should go to the Doc and make sure that everything is going okay....really.

It's not uncommon to have vaginal discharge like that when an ovarian cyst bursts.

If any fever/vomiting/crazy amount of discharge developes i'd get your arse to the docs office asap to rule out torsion or sepsis. (keep in mind fever and nausea can be normal symptoms and aren't necessarily "bad")

Other than that I would guess a heating pad and some Ibeuprofen would be helpful.

Also of interest; there was a study that linked diet to the prevelance of cysts. For example, they said that women who consumed the most beef and cheese developed the most ovarian cysts. In contrast, consumption of green vegetables provided a strong protective effect.

Just listen to how you feel over everything else. You know your body best. If you think something is wrong go get it checked out. Better safe than sorry sometimes you know?

Ya, it's the hormones in the meat and cheeses. Kosher or organic are soo much better. Not to say that's the only cause....

I used to get terrible cysts, I would get so sick, throwing up from the pain!!!! I had to be hospitalized for dehydration and b/c i lost so much weight. 102-106 is good for me, I was 15 and 90lbs. gross. I finally went to a alternative doc, b/c I was in the hospital 7 times in 4 months, he put me on a raw green, red and yellow 60% raw diet. I was on it about 3 months, I've been cyst free since!

I didn't do alt treatyments for the pain, I was on morphine it was so bad. i feel for ya girl.

Aw how rotten for you! I hope your well again soon!
Antibiotic alternatives - lots of garlic, onions, vitamin C megadoses (5 grammes or more daily!) and from memory I dont think you like this one but I swear by it - colloidal silver (-: I would also be taking a whole range of vitamins and minerals, eating lots of fresh fruit and veggies and cutting out dairy for a while.
    Take care!!!

GET YOUR ASS TO THE DOCTOR, ESPECIALLY IF YOU PLAN ON EVER HAVING KIDS! You never know if it's going to develop into septicemia or peritonitis or got knows what else.

Be careful of too much garlic. It thins the blood and can make you more prone to bleeding. This is why patients are always asked to stop garlic supplements a couple of weeks before surgery. I agree you should see your doctor. I've seen lots of ovarian cysts that are ruptured and never seen the kind of bleeding you are describing.

Colloidal silver is quite safe for most people. As with anything, moderation is key.

Unfortunately, nothing beats antibiotics for acute infections and infections that can easily go systemic (like ones from burst cysts) . I avoid them as much as possible- I won't take them until there's a REAL need- but they can reduce the length of your misery.

Oh my gosh. I hope you feel better. I'd go to the dr just to be on the safe side, though.
