Default Aaah!!! My nose! My foot!

Sorry if this is tmi, but I was having sex with my bf. My knees near my shoulders him on top. I came and it was too much so I started pushing him to get off. He occasionally will blow on me and touch me gently after I come to watch me squirm from the sensitivity.

Well, he did, and I kneed myself in my nose. I didn't start bleeding. But something is obviously wrong. It's red and swollen and hurts. My eyes teared up immediately while he ran for ice and tampons (in case it started to bleed).

Damn it. I hope it doesn't stay out of shape.

On top of this, I was walking my dog (who is also in pain-sick with a chest infection!!) this morning and took a wrong step somehow with my right foot. Everytime I step and roll off the ball of my foot, I get a SEARING pain under my second toe (not directly under, towards my big toe) and about 3/4" down. All day it's been hurting.

Any opinions on what it is? I'm WAY more concerned with this than my nose.

This sucks cause I'm leaving really early fri for a vacation (Puerto Rico till sun for me !!!!) and have NO time to see a podaitrist before leaving. Let alone that I've never gone to see a podaitrist. Anyone know of any in NY (preferably who accepts Oxford?).

Help please... what should I do about my foot?

Rest the foot. Stay off it as much as you can, and wear flat, comfortable, supportive shoes or go barefoot. It's probably just a pulled tendon or something.

As for your nose... do you think it might be broken? You might want to go to a minor medical clinic and have it looked at, if it's really that bad. Otherwise it could heal in a different position and look less attractive.

I dunno. My bf says he's broken his nose many times (like 5 or 6). It's really localized where it's red and swollen.

I have health insurance, but my Dr. only let's really really sick make same day appt's. Usually you gotta wait two or three days. It's $75 for my to go to emergency room. But I guess I could then get nose and foot checked out. This was a couple of hours ago and my nose has already hurt way less and the swelling has even gone down from when it blew up. I'm really not that concerned with my nose. It's already wierd with my 'jewish bump.'

But my foot is hurting when I walk. I found myself walking on the 'outside' of my foot all day. Yucky. I bought some Dr. Scholls Gel soles a while back and have never opened them. Maybe I'll throw those in my shoes tomorrow to see how it feels...

i got hit in the nose not long ago and it hurt for like 2 weeks and there was a small bruise...i didnt go to the doctor or anything and it heeled fine. i couldnt even touch it-it hurt that bad. if it worries you, you should go to the doctor. but if the swelling goes down and the pain decreases, i think youll be fine.

You may have fractured a bone in your foot. Do not walk barefoot. You need a flat, hard soled shoe. If you can find a medical supply store in your area, go there. Ask for a post-op shoe. They are not attractive in the least, but will be very protective of your foot. Otherwise, use lots of ice and anti-inflammatories.

I have dansko's which have a hard thick sole.

I broke my other ankle last year and still have that ski boot looking thing they gave me. Unfortunately it comes to my knee as I had an ankle problem vs a foot problem. I guess I'll pull that on next week when I'm back from my trip for a few days.

Any tips on how to get a good podiatrist?

Danskos frequently have a wedge type sole on them. Ideally, you want something flat as a board but rigid. Your aircast is probably overkill, but if it's what you have, then use it. This: http://www.myfootshop.com/detail.asp?ProductID=781
is what a post op shoe looks like.
If you have a primary doc, call her for a recommendation. You can also call your local ER and see if they have recommendations.

Yep. I think it's overkill too. It's not this particular brand, but it looks like:

I'm going to set up an appt for next tues or wed (I'll be gone till mon night). Hopefully, it'll just feel better by then and I could cancel.

I guess I'd better call Oxford to see if they'd cover me for a puerto rican emergency room visit... jic.
