Help...Digital Camera?

I bought a digital camera yesterday and it came with 2 AA Batteries. Well when I put them in and started playing with the camera within minutes it said "battery depleted" and wouldn't turn on. So I took the batteries out and they were that kind that you push the two little buttons and the line fills up with how much power is left, and both batteries had alot of power left - but it kept saying battery depleted. So I tried a new pair of batteries and I put them in, it said fully charged, then I took one picture and it said battery depleted again.

I read the whole instruction manual but no help. Was wondering if anyone knew anything about digital cameras that could help me.

It sounds like you have a faulty camera. The batterys they give you with the camera are cheap but they should last longer than a few photos. Take it back to the seller.

you need to get li or NiMH ca,era batteries. they're higher grade and can handle the burst energy needed when photo taking. your manual should tell you what to get.

^ I second that. We shoot with Nikons at the school and I found out after doing some research that it might even be dangerous to use regular batteries in lieu of those. There was a warning about explosions happening. Scary!

Invest in a set of rechargeable batteries for this camera. Digitals, take power. I have it setup so I always have a couple of spares. They always seem to run out, when you need them.

I'm thinking about finally buying a digital camera, any suggestions? I'm not looking for professional quality pictures but good and easy to operate.

Wow, that's strange.

I have a Nikon "Cool Picz" digital camera and regular batteries work fine and last a long time. I think it's her camera.

We use D70's. There are batteries that came with it along with a charger- so it's probably different.

I think it's probably the camera too if the batteries came w/ it.

Some camera's are designed to discharge the proper electricity from the camera BEFORE taking the picture. Nikon is a more reputable dealer, It's understandable they'd do that. Direct Current utilities need sources to handle the Draw immidiatily

I use AA's in myt digital (the Kodak Easyshare --I love it and so easy to use) and they become too weak for the camera after so many pics.... But then i can take out the batteries and use them in the remote or toys. they just take a lot to run.
I got a battery charger, can be used for AA's have not opened it yet...but yeah,they make special batteries for digitals........i guess u found that out.

Jannisary..id reccommend this camera. easy to use and good pics. i love it,but then again im not a camera know it all....but i love it.
