I have this outfit:
Anyone got a tip for cleaning the white faux fur trim? Its pink from me sweating in it! I'd like to be able to do it myself, save the dry cleaning fees if I can... if not... it's all good.

Marasmus ... "Ladies don't fart. They butt-laugh."
Marasmus says, "Oh no, that wasn't gas, it was merely a rectal chuckle."
Marek says, "A friend of mine got punched in the face by a dominatrix stripper about two weeks ago and I thought of you."
Good question - I'd like to know the same. (I'll try to post a pic of mine - it's a matching halter top and skirt.)
Lovely new avatar, Paige, as always!
"Before I conceived you, I wanted you. Before you were born, I loved you. Before you were here an hour, I would die for you. This is the miracle of life." -- Maureen Hawkins
"I just can't get over how much babies cry. I really had no idea what I was getting into. To tell you the truth, I thought it would be more like getting a cat." -- Anne Lamott
Sweat usually yellows things, so if it's pink, then it's probably the red dye bleeding into the white. And if that's the case, then trying to clean it with anything wet is just going to make it worse. I'd take it to the dry cleaner, but if it's dye then even they might not be able to do anything about it.
Gorgeous dress though!
What about those dry-cleaning bag thingers that you put in your dryer?
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
Cold water + shower/bathtub + Woolite + wring out WELL + lay flat to dry on dark-coloured towel = clean santa dress
PS the cold water is to prevent the dye running any more...if you dn't find yourself able to un-pink the white, try pouring boiling water over it (try to only hit the white stuff).
Feature costumes for sale!
I say be careful. I've taken stains to the cleaners and had them tell me the best thing to do is not touch it with even water and just bring it in so they can let you know if it can be cleaned. I'm not saying water won't work or something else, but could permanently dye it pink if you mess with it. How much was the dress? If it is too expensive to clean it maybe could just get another dress.
Well, stains aside, when you wash any type of fur it starts to ruin it, some faster than others! Get it to the cleaners hun!!!!
Once you've washed it (cold water only), you could try gently combing or brushing the fur a little, just to fluff it up a bit.
Not too much though or the fur will just come out.![]()
Also, don't rub the fur part when you wash it as that'd just make it matte together like dreads..
