You could up your goal. How do you "slack off"? I mean, if you busted your ass early on, then you might just be tired. I see no problem with taking it easy towards the end of your shift if you did well.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
Maybe you should bring in food and eat dinner. You probably will appreciate the energy boost. I usually bring a sandwich and nonalcoholic drink from my neighborhood deli -- much cheaper/less greasy than club food. Tonight I'm going to chow down a salad & some ramen and eat a cliff bar at work. If you give yourself a real 15 minute break and then get back on the floor you will feel very different and those last two hours will pass more quickly.
Realize, damn..I've already made this much, WOW what could I end up with if I keep hustling! Put what is above your goal into savings!
i agree with setting a higher goal.
if you can already make X amount $$ in your shift on average, why not up your goal to a little more?
or, if you're burnt out and are thinking, "well, I COULD make more..." don't even set your goal on money - just promise yourself, okay, only this many more dances...
and hey, sometimes? if you're trying for just one dance - you might get caught up in what you're doing, and wind up so busy with customer demand, the rest of the shift flies by and you have a buttload of money!
I would set goals. And when i came very close to the goal i would back off and perhaps go home. If i was way under my goal money enough was enough to motivate me to keep going forward.
Then again, i see that at times we all need to just re-group. Get out of the scene, relax. And hit it fresh in a few days!
when you feel like just chilling the rest of your shift, say to yourself, hey, I could make an extra 50 or 100$ or w/ev. And promise yourself that w/ 1/2 of that end of the day $$ you'll you'll save, and the other half can be fun money. Have a goal, some fun thing you want for yourself, and saving for that will motivate you!

When I hit my goal I'll tell myself, "ooh, I'll just make another $100 and then take a break" but then I usually make more and then up my goal some more... LOL
Ohhh man that's why I don't like working with friends!I like the girls I'm friendly with (who I'll grab for a double, who I can bitch to about custies, etc) but I find that when I work with real-life friends I can get caught up in my real-life headspace, which is not very productive at all.
Hmmm, another thought... why don't you try not counting your money all night? Maybe do something like put the $ from the first half of the night in your locker, take a break, make the rest of your $$ and at the end of the night, you can tell how much you made in each half, but you never hit that point of thinking, 'Oh, well it looks like I worked as hard as I intended to tonight, I'm done.'
