*sigh*
So I cast this beautiful girl to play the stripper in my short. She's from Mexico, only been in L.A. for a couple of weeks, and a pretty damn good actress. She needs direction, but that's my job to give it, and she takes it really well. A few runs with the other actor and voila, they have great chemistry and it looks great.
The trouble is she is late for everything - like WAY late - and now it turns out she can't pole dance. I specifically said in the casting call that I needed someone who can pole dance, and I think she thought I meant someone who could play a stripper and look sexy onstage. She's played strippers before, but she didn't have to do any pole tricks. On this one, I NEED her to do a really kickass pole trick; that's why my lead character is so drawn to her.
I can do a few basic moves, but I'm not a pole monkey. I guess I'll teach her what I know and try to work around it, but dammit, I'm annoyed. I REALLY wanted just one superfly pole trick. Oh well.
The lateness I can fix, at least. I'm having a reading with the entire cast on Sunday and I told her it was at 7 pm, and I stressed that she absolutely needs to be there at 7 on the dot. I told everyone else it's at 7:30. So I figure she'll show up around 8 and we can proceed with the meeting... here's hoping.
Anybody else got an idea for a killer attention-getter, now that it can't be a pole trick?
