    Default pink hair

Up until I started dancing I've had my hair all sorts of colors of the rainbow. Right now I have long/wavy dark brown and blonde hair. Every time I'd change my hair back to a natural color, I always feel like I've lost a piece of myself. I've been natural ever since I began dancing, but I'm getting that little itch again...

I'm also the most pierced girl at my club, and one of the most tattooed.

Say, hypothetically, if my hair WAS pink.

(Keep in mind I'm already pretty wild looking.)

Do you think it would attract more attention in a good way? Like, oh man look at that girl's hair... oh damn, she's kinda hot... you know, kinda thing, in the same way a wild costume attracts attention.

Or would that deter some guys even more, like how tatts already turn off some guys, would it just be something that would just make it even harder for myself?

I mean, there's various degrees of this I've considered. I've thought of all out pink, or just doing an underlayer on the tips so that it is very subtle. I'm sure a small flash of color wouldn't affect anything at all.

But say if my hair WAS all pink, or whatever...

what do you think would happen?

Honest to god truth, I started dancing because I wanted a fun job that I could also keep my apperance up. And honestly, if I really wanted to change my hair I wouldn't hesitate, regardless if it would make things harder for me - like I said, I wanted this job because I really want to be myself. I'm content with my hair the way it is I'm just curious as to what you guys think might happen if I were to go so drastic

Been there. Had hot pink hair for about a month. It polarizes people, so you have to be aware of your audience, as a majority of men won't like it, in my experience. But I thought I looked hella cute, even though I eventually dyed it brown (pink is a pain in the ass color to keep up).

I'd suggest an underlayer or chunk. Allover is tough to keep up and pink looks shitty when it fades.

Im in a simular boat. I used to have multicoloured hair before I started stripping and everyone loved it, it really was more of a draw card than anything. However theres a strange reversal of the norm inside strip clubs and I find for me that when it comes to being different a little works well, but theres a real fine line that you can cross and suddenly it works against you and you just become freak girl that people want to talk to and ask lots of questions but not spend money on.
You could try it and see how it goes though. I think it would look hot!

I agree that a wild look that's too wild can be counter-productive in the strip club. There was a girl at my Phx club with bright pink hair for YEARS, and she made great money. She had a fabulous body and wore little makeup, mostly eyeliner, and wore sexy lingerie that was kinda plain. That worked very well for her because the one "odd" thing about her was the hair; everything else was very "normal". She stood out though, in a good way.

I've seen girls who just looked way over the top and the guys were either totally turned off or afraid or too "intrigued" to buy dances. Or some combo.

But you also have to stay true to yourself, at least enough...
I think you make the most money when you feel the best about yourself.

Of course, girls with REALLY kickass bodies will make money with any color hair

If that's your current hair in the avatar, maybe try making the brown parts pink and leaving the blond?

There's a girl at my club that has short, pinkish hair and it really works for her, it really looks good on her. It goes from a red to a pinkish color, she's very pale skinned with green or blue eyes (can't remember) and she does really well. She does not have piercings or tattoos, so I don't know what that would look like. You could always try it and if it doesn't work, it's hair you can dye it any color. If you think having pink hair will make you more confident then I think it would make you more money because confidence is the biggest factor in making money, IMO! Let us know how it goes!

I get lots of positive attention with my pink hair (click on my myspace to see photos). But, my hair color is pretty much the most radical thing about my look, and I live in Oregon where we are a little bit different than most places.

I'm currently Manic Panic Ultra Violet.

I use Manic Panic Cotton Candy on occasion. It's pale and subtle enough that most guys in the club think it's just the lights. The rest of my hair is blond, and when I do the pink streaks, I just do thin wisps all around my face. It's fairly subtle OTC, and even my ultra-conservative grandparents think it's pretty. And in the club, it just looks like pink lights shining on blond hair. I've never had a customer even mention it.

I have a dark, short, layered bob with hot pink peek-a-boo highlights. It's never been a problem... however, I have no piercings or ink.

How hard would it be to reverse? B/c if it wouldn't be that difficult, I''d say do what bridgette suggested. Keep those bits by your face blond. You'll be happy, and money is usually better when you feel happy and confident

Actually, I think it would be easier and prettier to leave the brunette part like it is, and dye the bleached part. It would save the brunette from overbleaching, and you have to bring your hair to very light blonde before you can apply the pink, so it would save a step. Plus I think a combination of dark brown and light pink would be really pretty and unique!

A good friend of mine who worked had short dark hair (to just above her shoulders) and little pieces of bright hot pink sticking out here and there, and sometiems she'd switch it to purple....it worked well for her, but she also had zero tats, and only a belly piercing....

I think a little bit of the inner wild child is a good thing...but going all out you will have to expect that not everyone in the club will be attracted to that. Like Bridgette said, they might find it interesting, but also may be intimidated or not exactly turned on by it.

While I hate to say that anyone should conform to anyone elses wishes, it's common sense that if you want to market yourself to many different people, you have to be appealing to those many different people. Just something to keep in mind.

i say do what is best for YOU. if you want it all pink go for it. i personally must always have colors in my hair. right now i'm nuclear red (think coke can) and i'm wanting to throw some hot pink in it just for fun. maybe blue...but any way, the guys get all excited over my red hair because i am the only one like that. i have facial piercings but no tats (yet) and love my "rebel" look. i would not be worried about it. you can turn the pink hair into something sexy. as said above, you can always dye it back if you don't like it.

well i know changing it and stuff isn't a big deal, it's just that i have extensions so there's only so much damage you can really do to that kind of hair....

i think maybe just a little bit of color would be great

    thanks for input

oh my god I HEAR THAT. god knows how many people just want to sit and ask me questions and not actually spend money or something. sometimes i just get frustrated when its just one after the other like im some kind of sideshow "5 bucks a question!!" and then they usually just kinda shut up. ahhh.

There's a girl at my club that I can think of that I'm sure goes through this. She goes for a very alternative look thats more of a.... a litte more intense than goth. She really is gorgeous in her own way but I've heard guys make curious comments about her so I know she gets the question thing.

    Meh...

I'd try it. And like someone up there said ^ try and downplay your other accessories.

you'll lose money. mine used to be all sorts of fun colors too. i have to have close to natural color and take most of my piercings out when i dance. i know girls in some places "bank" with an alternative look, but it REALLY depends on your city/club. here in tampa, it doesn't fly.

having a tattoo of what most people refer to as a dead fetus (its actualy the character betrayal from a roman dirge comic "the monsters in my tummy") on my calf had hindered me pretty bad. i don't give a shit personaly, i love it. it's funny though, a guy will actualy be spending money on me and then see it during a dance and be like "uuhhhgggg.. wtf is that?" and i notice he stops shortly thereafter.

    whatever.

heres a url to a pic of my leg. the pic isnt good quality, but it's the only one i have.

I feckin love "The Monsters in my Tummy"!!!! Props to you for getting it. I love when people get unique tats like that. CollegeGirl has a tat on her calf of "Where the Wild Things Are" and it's absolutlely kickass! I must figure out what I'm doing for my Christmas tatt. I have ink envy.

I knew a girl up north who lost money due to her ink. A Pepto pink octopus on her entire back. Major WTF from lots of folks. No one to this day ever found out why she had it.

I think if your look is pretty on the wild side already I wouldn't go pink. It might be over kill as far as work goes .... now if you are comfy wearing wings then I say do whatever makes you happy in your off time and just tone it down some with a more normal color wig for work.

Just 'cause I'm bored and haven't posted any pics lately...

The peek-a-boo's are pretty subtle if you're looking at me straight on, but they really stand out in the back & sides.

^ you could get away with something like that, as the girls mentioned before. that's "acceptable" alternative.

btw, this thread has me wanting to dye my hair teal (like i had it many years ago) out of sheer protest.

but i can't .................. the club would be so pissed.

    Manchester,
If you are already one of the more tattooed and pierced chics at your club, I don't think pink hair will make much difference. Any custy's who are turned off by non-traditional girls have already run away. The guys who end up being your customers are okay with your punk look and I doubt pink hair would make much difference. If it would make you happier and feel more like yourself, I say go for it!

BTw I currently have my bottom layer manic panic cotton candy pink and top layer blonde. Maybe I'm just biased, I love pink hair!
