    Default First night...WOW and help

I finally did it!!!! I showed up at the club last night around 4pm, bought shoes (6 inch hills), walked in them for a bit back in the dressing room and was ready to dance by 5. The girls were all soooo helpful! The first set I fell flat on my ass just walking and poof down I went (embarassing but there were only a few guys, I just told them I was new, they said it happens a lot). I also did a couple of very basic pole tricks. The second set I bumped a guy in the head with my shoe....not hard, but still felt bad. The third set went great.....Then came the 4th set. By this point there was not a seat availabe at the tipping rail, and it was standing room early (I had never seen that club so busy). About 1/4 way around the stage I kicked someones drink right into their lap (I felt so bad....what do you do in this type of situation? Offer to buy him a drink, give him a free lap dance....HELP). I only had one more set to go, but when walking into the back to get freshened up I fell so hard in the hall on the carpet I couldnt even kneel to crawl around. When I was changing in the back one of the girls told me some of the girls were asking around "why did she say its her first night when its not". My husband came out with me for my first night...said he saw a HUGE improvement from the first set to the last set that I did.....IT IS SOOOO MUCH FUN!!!! I was glad the girl gave me encouragement as i was sooo tired and sore by 1am. For the first night 4pm-1am I am not complaining, I made more in the 8 hrs there than i do in an 8 hour day at my day job! Sorry this is so long just had such an unbelievable night. Thanks to all of you for your great advice!!! It was very very helpful!!!

Aww congrats!! The clumsyness will go away with time lol, but hey I still fall on my ass time to time(did it last night actually). I've knocked over more drinks with my props or shoes or whatever then I can count, I just giggle, say sorry, make a smart ass joke and keep going. Dont worry about spilled drinks, they happen a lot lol.

Hey, my first night I kicked a custy square in the nuts when he was trying to tip me. I also fell out of the cage stage which was high up into a custies lap. Neither were angry, they just smiled and tipped me

I am really klutzy and I trip over myself all the time. The first club I ever worked at had stairs into the dj booth from the main floor, and when I picked my audition music I fell OUT of the booth and down the stairs. The dj said it was my first day with my new legs and put me up on stage. I felt so stupid, but now I'm used to the fact that I have no coordination.

When I fall I laugh or make a joke out of it and keep on going. I spill drinks on people on a regular basis too, but nobody has ever gotten pissed about it. It WILL get easier, I promise. Congrats for making it through your first night!

Congrats on your first night! Ask your manager about the drink. Sometimes the clubs will replace those for free. I once saw a dancer spill a drink all over the remote of a guy's wheelchair... so it could be worse! ;-) If the club won't replace it though, you should probably offer to buy him a replacement. As the other girls said, the clumsiness will go away. :-) Good luck!

I am so glad that I am not the only clutz out there!!! Oh my god was I sooo incredibly sore the next couple of days, will I always be that sore after dancing? Also....how long will it take before it wont look like my husband took a baseball bat to my knees? Do any of you know the best place to buy thigh highs as all I seem to find are knee highs and would like to hide my black and blue knees. Thanks to all of you wonderful girls for your help and advice.....all of you are so brilliant!!!

Yay for you! You made it through your first night! It gets easier. And smoother.

By the way- make sure whatever thigh highs you get have the silicone grippy strips on them. If you get stockings, you'll need to fumble with a garter to keep em up.

Vic sec has some basic ones.

LOL, let me make you feel better hun...

After dancing for about 6 months I decided to get color contacts. One of my first nights wearing them I stepped on a lighter in route to the dressing room and fell straight on my ass, then kicked a couple of custys beers straight off the tip rail, and for my grand finale... My eyes were so dried out and blurry that I asked (okay absolutly insisted) that this guy stand up at my stage... the problem you ask? His wheelchair was folded up behind him, I so didn't see it! To make bad enough worse he was a double amputee! I wanted to die! He got up on his (not being mean, but for visual effect) nubs, and leaned against the back of his chair. I just joked with him but I was beet red. Shit happens, welcome to the wonderful world of stripping. Oh, and after a week or so you won't be as sore anymore, within a month bruising should slow down, I drink propel fitness water for the niacin and it works wonders, tore my shin up really bad on that driveshaft aka pole at the Classy Chassy in Indy, 3 bottles of Propel later the bruise which was at least 8 inches long is virtually gone.
