    Default Any runners?

I’ve been running for a few years now and I usually run 3-5 times per week and do approximately 5-8 kms (3-5 miles). I just recently bought new running shoes with neutral cushioning and I’ve worked them in a bit. After my last run, I noticed that the bottom of my foot near my toes was sore. I took a long bath and soaked with Epson salts. The pain went away and it has returned.

Anyone know what this could be?

Avid runner here. Have you actually had your foot alignment scanned/tested? Sounds like you might have bought a shoe that is designed to control overpronation. If you don't need that arch support then your toe strike will over correct and roll outwards causing this soreness. You can get your alignment tested at any specialty runner's market.

Agreed with Lola. THere are a lot of things that this could be, but my bet its that it's misalignment coupled with a shoe that isn't quite right. Did you ever have this before the new shoes?

It could be a spur too. Does it hurt all of the time or only when you run? And if its only when running, is it immediate, or does the pain kick in after a few miles?
