    Default Spiciest food?

ARGH! It's NOT happening! I can't find the spiciest food! Someone told me to go to this one Thai place and order an 'Aussie Cry' (guaranteed to make Aussies cry at 6 chilli's out of six!)....

I told them to make it EXTRA spicy for me....

Either 'make it extra spicy' means 'I'm a wuss who wants to look cool in front of my friends' or it means THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT SPICY IS!

What is the spiciest food you know of? I don't care what type... I just want feet-sweating mouth-burning, blisteringly spicy...

and I've been craving it for months.

I can't get anything spicy enough to satisfy me.

So far it hasn't been spicy enough...

And getting Mexican here is IMPOSSIBLE... I had nachos last night and the restaurant put MARINARA instead of salsa!!! ICK!

And Indian food seems bland, too.

Specific dish in mind I can make myself?

Don't know about any specific dishes. I think you can get some hot stuff here.

when you order spicy food at an ethnic restaurant, they sometimes "adjust" what they do to the food. So they assume that 'spicy' for someone who is not their ethnicity is significantly less.

I can see why as I have some friends who like it "spicy" but what I consider spicy and what they consider spicy is so very different. Their "spicy" is bland to me.

Best way is to just make your own spicy foods! Then you can make it as crazy and you want.

I assumed that's what they did. I was kinda pissed though because I even said 'try to KILL ME!' 'cause they always think I'm joking or something. No, really, try to kill me!! Do it! Make my bowels regret everything!

    Pft, I'll do it myself.

Habenero peppers are pretty brutal. I general grab a few and toss 'em in olive oil and let it sit for awhile and add it to whatever i'm looking to make unpalatably hot.

I loooove those... but finding one in Australia? Y'think it'd be easy what with the blistering heat... but alas, no. I'll look for some (again) though in hopes to make myself diarrhoeitically delicious.

If you can't find habaneros (ouch!) can you find Thai chilies? Seeing as how you are geographically closer to them than Mexico? ;-)

Toss a couple of those in and you'll be sweating!

(Just googled Thai chili and they make a Thai Chili Pringles!? Not fair it's only in Europe! Yummy!!!!!)

If its still there which it may not be, The Thai Malaysian Hut on the beach front at Coolangatta. My ex had the same problem and they made him something which was so hot he nearly died finnishing his meal. The food there is great, so even if it isnt hot enough its a great meal! He had to really really stress about the hotness though, I think there might have been a couple of failed attempts too... it was a long time ago.

I am not into really hot food, but Ive evperienced a tiny dab of Mexican taco sauce in Mexico which nearly blew the top of my head off and it wasnt supposed to be hot at all. Then I tried the "hot" which I can only compare to a nuclear blast in my mouth. I half wonder if truely hot food is something which will be very hard to find here for various reasons.

That should be super easy to get, actually... as Australia and Thailand have very close connections.

    YAY! Thank you!!

    Any Korean places around you?

Mae oop Gae... make my food spicy. Hopefully they can work that out.

I recommend Kimche ChiGae or Dae Je (like G) Bul Go Ge

Is that how it's pronounced in Koreon or how it's spelled?

You need a chowhound passport!! It had translations of make it authentic, or something to that effect.

I know the Chinese one read (in english) I may have a western face but I have a Chinese stomach. Something I've been told lots of times.

    Pity they have gone 404.

Pronounced. That is how I would spell it for myself in English. If you need the HanGul (written) I'll see what I can coerce the Empress to type.

Wasabi works for you? I've tried the REAL stuff (as they usually mix mayonnaise and some random shit together in restaurants) and I only find it to be bitter... not much flavour at all. Hot yes, spicy, not really. :p

real wasabi isn't as strong or hot as the made stuff. The watery shit isn't what you want, it's the more paste like, flakey kind.... go to a really nice japanese place, and I'd be shocked if that doesn't do it.

You should be able to find it (or something similar) in Asian markets.

Look for chili paste there too.

Grow them yourself. They're wickedly easy to cultivate.

Don't say you weren't warned, Morri. The night before you hopped the plane the first time, did I not tell you?

I never liked spicy food, and then I moved to Australia and everything was SO FUCKING BLAND!! I came home craving peppers and spices and now to this day I put crushed red pepper and cayenne in everything. I never could find anything with any flavor in it in Australia, either!

You're just going to have to cook. Hit the ethnic markets for Thai peppers and such. A few of the regular markets have Tabasco sauce. Or PM me your address and I'll mail you a bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce or Tapatillo or whatever.
